im not sure but i think it takes to in account results from recognised matched from the last 4 years and they are "weighted" with more recent matches and more significant matches (e.g. world cup QF,semis, final etc) being given more significance.

To be honest I don't understand it too well.
Cuz like the U.S is ranked so high cuz they used to dominate in Concacaf.But the thing is, CONCACAF has mostly weak teams.
I don't think people take the rankings that seriously though.
