Hi everyone ... it was seeing Wise Analyst's name here and being welcomed that made me think I might be as well! Wasn't that the person on the old Beeb board who went on about how any Tom, Dick or Vince Spadea would beat the transitional No 1? All good fun (well, I thought so). We have something more in common, Jo, as I'm also a Marat fan ... perhaps that Davis Cup decider win will restore his confidence so that he can string a few wins together!

And Pebs - I also like Tim and always wish him well. Even though Fed wipes the floor with him, it grieves me to see it!

Who does not like Marat? He is a great player with a great personality. Difficult to go against him...unless if you are Argentinian AND you have to play Russia in a DC match.

Regarding his form for next year, He says in his interview that he had a knee and ankle problem during the match and could have lost the 5th had he lost the tie break. So this is not good news for next year. It is so much shame to have such a great athlete and potential wasted (or diminished which comes to the same effect). Reminds us of Mecir, Rios and Medvedev. Well at least he has 2 slams unlike the others.
