Is it the end of the BEEB board as we know it on Thursday?

I think so, a lot of people will be looking for somwhere else to go the next two days, so I reckon we should drop a link or two :)

Ye I will probably be around a bit tomorrow so will drop by links if I can take time away from my arguments over there, and I expect a lot us who aren't banned or who can remember our BBC account passwords will be over there on thursday.

It still hasn't really sunk in yet that it's going, but I look forward to it going all the same :)

I think there's mixed feelings as it goes - after all this is one huge victory for the WuM's

However i'll always remember the board in the early days when I came on, when it was good. Those summer days of madness when we'd just created heyupp! :D

to be fair sam, this is not just the tennis boards closing, they are closing ALL the sports boards. I don't think we can just blame the WUMs on the tennis boards for this decision, i suspect it's cost cutting more than anything!!! :(

and they've already taken the links off the sports pages to the old sites anyway

I believe they're also taking The Station board off as well. Although they appear to be leaving the world and uk news boards, which always seem to need the most moderating!!! :blink:

Its all about cost-cutting more than anything else. Interestingly though, I know someone who used to be a BBC moderator, and he reckoned that the standard of moderating really took a turn for the worse when his company lost the contract for moderating and it was awarded to someone else.

The BBC messageboard has been great, despite some less than glorious episodes, but all good things come to an end...

Yes the BBC went downhill sadly, but I got to knwo a lot of good posters through it and am now over here so a lot of good came out of it. I had some great times too (and some bad ones). So glad i joined though :D

I had wondered if they had go ta bunch of dodgy contractors in. It's a shame, if onyl they had decent mods I think it could have been saved. Have to say in my experince, the moderation was highly inconsistent, reactionary and frustrating. I didn't care that they banned me as 'd had enough, but i coudl nto beleive the posts I was restricted for. 5 posts to Hopless Henman tellign him I knew he was also Henmansaloser, and that I did nto liek what he'd doen on here and his attitude towards Tim, and that did tno want to speak to him again. No swear words or offensive language, even Mo was gettign post removed which was very polite, on the same subject. Oh well.l

O well, on the bright side SB as we said before we don't have to talk to such non-entities as hopelesshenman and henmansalose ever again :) Or even put up with reading their usual inane drivel :rolleyes:
