http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_spor...ing/6185486.stmI know nobody will have heard of him - heck, i only vaguely know the name, but it's very sad. These things happen occasionally in cycling, although more often on the road than on the track. Very sad for his family...
Very sad news to hear. I sincerely hope his family and friends can get through what must be a very tough time.
There's a lot of discussion that the track itself wasn't particularly safe, so i hope this force the cycling bodies to enforce stricter rules to ensure the safety of the riders at these events.
Sad, Shocking news.
Its not a sport where you would expect to hear of a fatality, especially indoors. Tour De France maybe as it is madness what they put their bodies through for that but not expected indoors.

Yeah, you're right Trisco. There have been a few deaths of road-racers, either during training and that tends to be a collision with a car, or occasionally during Tours and things like that. But it is almost unheard of indoors - mind you, the speeds they're travelling at it's a surprise there aren't more.
