Yeah, she has. She won for Shakespeare in Love - it was a big controversy. The year before she was nominated for mrs Brown and everyone thought she should have one. Instead, Helen Hunt (the only American nominee that year, all the rest were brits) won best actress for as good as it gets. the following year Dench was nominated for best supporting actress for Shakespeare in love, and won despite only having about 10 minutes of screen time. It was commonly thought that the academy awarded it to her because everyone was of the opinion she deserved it the year before.

I'm trying to think if she also won for iris but i'm not sure

I hate to be controversial, but good as she was in that film, surely the fact that she didn't actually sing might have had something to do with it. Plus the fact that there was a lot of upset at the time that she got the role over Julie Andrews who had been doing it in the theatre (on Broadway maybe)) at the time.....

Fave Actors, for their acting abilities

Morgan Freeman
Samuel L Jackson
Kevin Spacey
Guy Pearce (originally from Neighbours, but went on to star in LA Confidendial (one of my fave films ever) also Ravenous, Pricilla Queen of the Desert and Mememto) All stunning movies IMO. He frequently gets rave reviews and thats good in my book.

Dame Judy always puts in a fine performance
Nicole Kidman (fab in the tv series Bankok Hilton years ago)
Sally Fields (last saw her in ER a couple of years ago and again put in a top class performance)

Ye but Julie couldn't do it anyway because she was doing Mary Poppins at the same time. I don't know why Audrey didn't sing though Jo as she was a very good singer :(

Female- Renee Zelwegger, Reese Witherspoon, Sally field, Uma Thurman( ), Meryl Streep.

Harry Potter - June 30, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
Actors: Michael Caine, Russell Crowe, Ken Watanabe
Actresses: Vivien Leigh ( ), Maggie Smith, Julie Walters

Tenez - June 30, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
Marcello Mastroianni, Vittorio Gassman, Hugo Toniasi, Nino Manfredi, Philippe Noiret.

Sofia Loren, Claudia Cardinale, Sandra Fereole.

I'd consider the Italians the masters of this art. They started acting 10 000s years ago...

I would say Marlon Brando, Robert de Niro, Kidmann in the "western" world.

Whoever saw the original "scent of a woman" with Gassman would, i am sure, recognise that his talent was superior to Al Pacino's and so was the original director Dino Risi.

 I find it quite sad that people think Serena would fake injuries. She should get respect for finishing her match and giving the Wimbledon crowd a good quarter final. But no we get this...ah well, predictable by now.
