Very true and Rafa can sometims be a slow started like at the French Final he lost first set 6-1 Dubai he lost it 6-2 so still ages to go, he showing a few glimpses of good form in that last game.

I think this could be different. Don't forget that in the french final nadal was playing knowing he'd just beaten fed twice in a row. This time, nadal hasn't had the best ending to his season, so his confidence itsn't going to be quite as high, so i suspect that if Fed can put in a good first set, nadal may not be able to come back from that. however, (and i know it sounds like i'm hedging my bets) fed does have his nasty blips...often in the second set!
ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:17 PM (GMT)
Nadal holds Federer leads 3-1
Dinky Jo - November 18, 2006 12:18 PM (GMT)
that looked like a great game :D
ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:21 PM (GMT)
Federer holds to 15 with a forehand volley at full stretch
scolios - November 18, 2006 12:21 PM (GMT)
Can any of you actually SEE this? Following live scores is so tantalising!
Liam, I hope that both Fed and I are good losers :D but let's wait and see..
C'mon Fed!!!

I agree that his form isnt quite the same as when they played at the French, but in Dubai Nadal came into that final match with no real form and then dropped the first set 6-2 there I still feel this one has a long way to run but Federer is certainly hitting is very cleamly irhg tnow

oh good, there's a few more Fed fans arrived. I was beginning to feel out-numbered roflmao
Scorelines seem to suggest that nadal is getting in to his game now????
Big Al - November 18, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)
Nadal always seems to lose the first set easily against Fed !

Yeah, i agree. I think that Fed could actually have an easier time meeting Nadal here rather than in the final. Especially as fed doesn't tend to be consistent throughout his matches....
ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:33 PM (GMT)
Federer holds from 15-30 down to lead 5-2
ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
In that last game Nadal was timing his forehand much better and a few missed volleys from Federer
ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:37 PM (GMT)
fed goes wide with backhand cross court Nadal holds to love
5-3 fed
scolios - November 18, 2006 12:37 PM (GMT)
That game ws a bit of a nail-biter - so Nadal is fighting fit again. just as long as Fed is fitter

ark_28 - November 18, 2006 12:40 PM (GMT)
I felt that was on the cards as Nadal has been playing Better but that was a poor game by Federer
0-15 Fed Nets forehand
0-30 Double Fault.
0-40 Misses sitting volley
Game Nadal Nets a short forehand.
