Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 11:11 AM (GMT)
This one has just started!!! I'd like Roddick to win this, but i'm worried that after the Federer match he might have a few mental issues.......

Come on Andy!!!!

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 11:24 AM (GMT)
roflmao yeah, but i prefer Fed to Roddick and I prefer Roddick to nalbandian.....

makes perfect sense :D

Gav - November 16, 2006 11:26 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, tough one. I do like Nalby, but Andy has more of a chance of going on and challenging Federer should he meet him again. Go Andy!

 Yep I know what you mean, I think. B)

Oh dear Andy's dropped serve. He has to beat that nasty argie and send him packing.

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 11:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it's not looking good for roddick :(

Mo aka Mz O'Hara - November 16, 2006 11:32 AM (GMT)
aggghhhh and again :(

COME ON ANDY, DO YOUR STUFF.

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 11:50 AM (GMT)
oh dear! There goes the first set!!! :(

I did wonder whether that Federer match took it out of him somewhat - COME ON ANDY!!!

liam_valid - November 16, 2006 11:53 AM (GMT)
Andy to win in 3 sets. GOOO ARODDD

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 12:11 PM (GMT)
This is looking better 3-3 in the second set.....come on Andy!!!!

The stats on this one are interesting: Roddick has an incredible serve%, but has been hammered on his first(!) serve in the first set, but he has hit 9 aces in his first three service games in the second.

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 12:17 PM (GMT)
now, not looking so good - break to nalby!!!

scvangils - November 16, 2006 12:17 PM (GMT)
Oops, break for Nalbandian. If Nalby wins, Fed will automatically qualify. Perhaps he'll throw his last match, so he'll meet Blake in the semis. (probably not, but it's possible)

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 12:23 PM (GMT)
Roddick now needs to break nalby to stay in the match!!!!

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 12:29 PM (GMT)
YES!! Come on Andy!!!!

Dinky Jo - November 16, 2006 12:47 PM (GMT)
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!

scvangils - November 16, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
Well, you have to be impressed with Nalbandian's returning: Roddick winning only one point on his second serve in the second set!

so sad for Andy, He started this tournament so well and now he's out (assuming Fed will win at least 1 set..). But it has to be said he didn't play smart today. His gameplan (serve&volley) turned out disasterous. But the main problem was his backhand, totally un-convincing.
Nalbandian choked big time at 5-4, serving for the match. But credits for him, he had to win in straight sets and he did.
I won't be surprised if this ends up in a replay of last years final..

mightyjeditribble - November 16, 2006 01:29 PM (GMT)
Oh no. Andy :(

Gav - November 16, 2006 01:40 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, annoyed at this result! Roddick has only himself to blame.

Thanks for the score updates everyone!

What happened to Roddick?
He looked like the shadow of the player that played Federer the other day
I reckon that loss crushed him completely. He didnt look like he had gotten over it today.

I'd say bad tactics and not being able to read the match. Roddick tried to win the points at the net. After 2/3 games it was clear that wasn't the right gameplan, but he couldn't turn things around. Conners also looked clueless

I think Roddick under-estimated Nalbandian, which is one thing you should NEVER do.
