Just thought about this yesterday after an argument with a troll on the BBC site about why Henin's ranking has dropped.
Has anyone noticed that the points from Berlin have already come off the rankings? It was a week earlier last year but this year we had that extra free week between Fed Cup and Warsaw so for the time being points for last years events are going to come off the Monday of the event rather than the usual which is the Monday straight after the event. So Jankovic has already lost her Berlin points & though I still don't think Henin can get the number 4 seed for RG (unless Petrova loses today and has a early loss in Berlin) Henin will be back up to number 5 if she wins Berlin.
This will play havoc with trying to work out the rankings for the rest of the year!

Yeh, I noted this in another thread.
Thankfully, the rankings will get back on track at the beginning of the US hard court season.
Rankings Update:
Kim has the chance to claim the number 1 spot if she reaches the final (I think), with Amelie's 4th round exit.
Maria will be the Russian number 1 again, despite losing some points (of course Nadia suffered heavily with her 1st round loss, as she was defending SF points).
If Justine loses in the 4th round, or the QFs, she will drop to #7. However, if she gets to the semis, she will keep her number 5 spot. I think she could move up to number 3/4 if she retains the title, though I'm not sure.
So we're down to the last 2 :)
Here's the current rankings (points from RG are added):
1 Amelie Mauresmo 3306
2 Kim Clijsters 3266
3 Maria Sharapova 2345
4 Nadia Petrova 2308
5 Justine Henin-Hardenne 2200
6 Svetlana Kuznetsova 2107
7 Lindsay Davenport 2080
8 Elena Dementieva 1956
9 Mary Pierce 1810
10 Patty Schnyder 1753
11 Anastasia Myskina 1487
12 Venus Williams 1420
13 Nicole Vaidisova 1401
14 Francesca Schiavone 1356
15 Martina Hingis 1334
16 Anna-Lena Groenefeld 1284
17 Dinara Safina 1248
18 Daniela Hantuchova 1052
19 Flavia Pennetta 991
20 Maria Kirilenko 843
Whoever wins the final will move up to number 3.
Wow, Lindsay's not that far away from #3...
