Selesfan let's not play this game again. I may be stoned, but I know for a fact that you are a good poster and shouldn't take so seriously what other people say. They may not always agree with you but I'm sure they value your opinion.

its just a light hearted board you shouldn't let conflicting views affect you.

It'd be a shame if you had to leave.

Perhaps we all just need a bit of a lesson in learning to agree to disagree on things.

Well I'll give you my opinion for what it is worth. I knwo you had a history with some posters on the BBc but that is behind us now(at least I hope so anyway :) and as far as I can tell there haven't bene any problems with you and others n here.

if you mean the religious stuff I can see your point, i really can. However I have to say that this is a lighthearted board and that we all laugh and joke. I have doen and I cant; help it really. It doesnt; mean I DISRESPECT your religion or your beliefs, but I may not AGREEa with them - there is a difference. And as we have had a few deabting threads going where you have made your opinions quite plain, you cant; expect those who dont; agree to not say so can you? You clearly disagree with some of the things people have said to you and have had your say . That's just the way it is. People disagree and you really cannot force them to change their mind. You can try but you cant; force them. So dont; eb too hard about it. :) And on the joking - well we all do a lot of that, and for eg. may comment son tobacco where just a joke that I coudl nto resist making and it was nto meant to eb offensive. If you joked about others' beliefs in the same way I am sure nto one woudl take huge offence. Just my view. :)

Sorry to hear you are going. People disagreed with your beliefs. But it's ok to disagree and get on still. Maybe you could change your mind and stay.

Whenever I read selesfan posts on the Beeb, I had the strong feeling I was watching a kind of Henry Root phenomenon and that one day, all the various replies would be printed in the form of a book called "The Selesfan Posts" as a kind of satirical attack on message boards. Selesfan is the sort of creation that Barry Humphries would have come up with in his pre-Edna Everage days. So I'm not sure anyone should take her / him seriously unless they want to feature in a best seller next year.

Selesfan is lovely please stay. It got so boring without you on the beeb. I know you will be back.

True, but it's not funny and it's spoiling the board for the real people.

I don't care if I ruffle a few feather (mods certainly have been! roflmao ), somebody needs to talk straight, cut out the s***. I'm sure in most posters heart of hearts they'd breathe a sigh of relief if SF didn't come back.

Sam you allowed your personal prejudices to get the better of you and really went after Selesfan on another thread. For my money, you were bang out of order. And please don't elect yourself as the spokesman for the board either, as I don't think that everyone shares your opinion.

As the CC board gets bigger, there will be more disagreements. That's just life really. There have been a few recently and when discussed, it was agreed that people should be given a chance, regardless of their history on the beeb.

And Selesfan, I remember your declarations of leaving the board. Why not just let things lie and come back when you're in the mood?

Come to think of it, the last person who made a big declaration that they were leaving the board for one reason or another was.. Sam!! Hmm.. Why do some people need a fanfare of trumpets when they are about to/ not about to do something? :whistle:

I second those sentiments. Leave policing the boards to the mods.

I came back (as this week) only for updates for the poscars, as I promised I would. At the same time I saw that the board has been allowed to descend into the doldrums just like happened at the beeb about 9-12 months ago.

Petalp I respect you, as most posters on this board, but people are too scared of each other sometimes! I talk straight, it should have been done earlier

bollox! nobody is scared to straight talk on here - and sometimes, people go out of their way to be hurtful on here under the guise of 'straight talking'.

Petal is quite right Sam - you are not spokesperson for the board, and as a fairly unruffled mod, I can say that I havent heard much in the way of complaint about SF either.

You arent around much because you 'only come back to update Poscars' and stuff, but SF has been about on the board, and getting on okay with people. Shes even been responsible for some of the more interesting debates of late! She may have upset some with her views, but then I dont suppose shes taken lightly some of the stuff others have said - thats life!

Nick has always run a 'clean slate' policy on CC, the beeb history doesnt count for much and posters are allowed to show whether or not they can get on away from the temptation of trolling and spamming (sound familiar?) that they get drawn into on the beeb.

If you really feel you cant get on with SF, then I suggest you just leave alone (like other people do with history on the board) and just post with those you are happy with.

Well this is all abit sad, but Sam - wtih respect you don't speak for everyone on here. I make no bones about it that I was nto exactly delighted when Sf joined, but I have to say like Pebs and petalp that she hasnt; really caused any problems either. No tthat I can see :shrug: In fact she has satrted off some good debates really, whether intentional or not, and many of this einvoled have enjoyed that. I'm nto sayign SF is a saint and I do beleive that she makes some thing sup - and I have told her so - but I really dont; see what harm SF is doing on here. And you know me, if I did I would say so.

I also think it's a bit off to say this board has gone into the dolldrums. It may nto provide all singing all dancing entertainment 24-7, but it has actually picked up loads lately. :ok: You know we've been board mates for a while so I am a bit upset to see you being so hostile lately :( I know you say what you think as I do, but you don't seem the same. Well if you want to speak to me off this thread then you can always PM me :)

I am saddened by this turn of events, i hope that SF is having another "leaving" and will return.

We all know about SF and thir past form, but as has been said everyone here starts with "clean slate" and as far as i can see, there's nothing thats upset anyone except for Sam.

Sam you know how i feel about you as a poster, you're quirky and quite witty and you are missed when you're not around, but i am sad at this episode!!!

Please do not perceive any lack of action by the Mods/Admin as weakness or being scared as i'm sure it is neither, just have FAITH that if action is warranted it WILL be taken.

Please just think about what's happened, as personally i'd hate to see you leave.
