I have only ever played tennis for fun and becsuse i love playing. Do any CC posters have ambitions of being proffessional? I always get the impression WB is a good player. Or has anyone on here ever had a ranking?

I have no ambitions whatsoever of becoming professional. I play for leisure and play club tournaments. I think its competing that I like becuase I have a vicious competitive streak. I do have an LTA ranking but its only 9.2 .

Sam - thats the CC poster whos gonna be pro.

The word exaggeration comes to mind ;)

Bedsides isn't he a bit old to be a pro

He already has a year on Andy Murray.

Many players start quite late.

If I'm not mistaken, Benjamin Becker turned pro at the age of 24, and I'm sure that Sam would be proud to be able to do as well as him, wouldn't he?

Dl, that isn't a lie mate!
You might be surprised to know that a lot of top club players in britain have huge serves - I have faced consistent 130mph and it's scary!
The thing is, often these players put a huge emphasis on their serves and don't work quite hard enough in their games elsewhere - or they have a huge physique (ala Karlovic-like).

My fastest serve was 127mph down the middle, did it on January 14th (see i'm sad enough to remember the day roflmao ).

Usually I would say my average 1st serve speed in a match is purposely around the 105-110 mph territory, it has to go in and set me up for the point you see! I don't know what the speed of my second serve is, possibly 70-80mph, it has a big kick on it anyway!

Top club player is where i'll probably stick - Andy Murray was there way earlier! (As was my coach)

If i'd have knocked Agassi out in his last ever match in front of the American crowd, I reckon i'd have jumped around and milked it and got the crowd against me roflmao

See if Andre could be Mr Nice guy then roflmao

for a while I did, I played first team University Tennis, and I am a qualified coach, I have played a couple of Semi Professional events in the States and a few players from those events have gone on to do really good things. But the harsh reality of the sport is unless you can really be in the top rungs of the sport, good as all the other guys are dont get me wrong its an amazing level ANY one with a world ranking, but its about food on the table!
