Title: Garcia-Lopez will oust Federer

55mediter55 - October 25, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
Spaniard will will run riot in a routine 6-4 6-3 trashing over transitional no 1. You read it first in here

OK mediter, I said you'd be welcome here, if you want to post reasonable discussion. If it's going to be a post like this about virtually every match that Federer plays, we can do without that.

No requirement to be a fan of any particular player, but I and most everyone else here consider the constant barrage of anti-Federer posts on the BBC board to be spam, and we don't intend to have the same bleed over here.

Well said.

All hail our mods

How typical that this would be his first post

SerenaW19 - October 25, 2006 03:11 PM (GMT)
Not to mention this is in the wrong forum

Scotsguy - October 25, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
AAAAAAAAAHH, the fed bashing disease has spread from the Beeb :yikes: :yikes:

Yes, why it is allowed is beyond me. An IP ban must surely follow.

Actually, we read it first on the BEEB, about a million times :bs:

SerenaW19 - October 25, 2006 04:17 PM (GMT)
The thing is though it's all very well giving these new posters a chance but they're clearly just the same characters as they are when they post on the beeb and half of them are probably the same person like Hiro.

liam_valid - October 25, 2006 04:25 PM (GMT)
But at least they are getting a chance :( Imagine how many threads Vamos has had to delete this last week :yikes: Besides, they know if they spam they will be in trouble, we have great mods :D

SerenaW19 - October 25, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
Well I hope it works, but they are just serial spammers at the end of the day. I know the mods will take care of it. Hopefully they will realise it's just pointless and just leave.

Nick counts my vote to :ban: :ban: :ban: this guy...He did already plenty of SAD job on the BBC board...Let's close the door with him outside. B)

Andy1073 - October 25, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
I'm all for giving folk a fair chance, but I'm afraid Mediter's first effort just shows nothing but determination to try and carry on his BBC board trolling. Now he's over on the Beeb trying to get his fellow trolls to sign up here.

I can only hope Nick exercises some :admin: and the trolls get a (brief) taste of life on a board that isn't moderated by poorly trained mice.

Queen Justine - October 25, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
If you click on "last click" at the bottom of the index page you week see that there are loads of "guests" looking at this thread.

roflmao roflmao must be the trolls due to 55Mediter55 bragging on the beeb that he had posted on here and it had been accepted.

Some days hes in the top ten posters list though   Hes got a funny way of showing us how much he hates hates us  roflmao

Selesfan - October 27, 2006 10:23 AM (GMT)
Why has he been allowed on here? It's because of him that most of us do not post on the BBC anymore.

SerenaW19 - October 27, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
Boromir doesn't on the beeb that often. Just enough to throw a few random insults in.

It's because of Federer bashers like 55mediter55, Chairman and the rest of the me too men that most of us don't go on the beeb anymore.

No, I didn't mean Bormoir, I meant 55mediter55 etc...

O right, yes I agree with you then.

Nick Havoc - October 27, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
OK, guys, just enjoy the board. Don't worry about who's allowed on here. Basically, everybody is allowed on here. I have a clean slate policy, which means I don't hold against anyone the way they behaved on the BBC or any other board. (And some of you should appreciate that. ;)) If they want to carry on reasonable discussion, they can stay.

So please, if you see someone you don't like, because of previous history, try to focus on the post and not the poster. For instance, this thread was certainly an poor and unlikely prediction, so you're free at this point to say something like:

"Good call, there, genius."

Don't worry about the poster, but feel free to report spamming or rude posts. We'll deal with it, if it's a problem, but try not to dwell on insulting the poster on the board.

Deal?

That's fine Nick. Everyone deserves a chance, but the fact that that was his first ever post on here just shows he doesn't intend to tale this board seriously, and I strongly recommend that you :ban: him!

Dinky Jo - October 28, 2006 11:25 AM (GMT)
I think Nick has a point - people play up on the BBC because they can, but they're less likely to here 'cos Nick can just ban them. And i get the feeling that somne of the trolls actually know something about tennis - Perfector made a comment at some point about Fed's backhand and no matter whether i disagree with him, he did seem to have some knowledge about it.

I'm confident that if people start to really play up on here the nick or someone else will do something about it, and kind of like the BBC, we do have the choice to respond to whichever messages we see fit.

having said that, after some of what Boromir has been saying on the BBC board about you nick, i'm surprised you haven't exercised a little :admin:

Nick Havoc - October 28, 2006 11:47 AM (GMT)
The other thing you should all understand, is that we will not be publicly announcing administrative actions taken against members. So if you're worried about a particular poster, but you don't know if anything is being done, just ask youself if that poster appears to be continuing to cause problems. If not, don't worry about it.

Selesfan - October 29, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
That's prefectly fair Nick. I used to be a troll,(well, in all of your opinions) so I know what's it like.
