liam_valid - October 21, 2006 02:07 PM (GMT)
Just kicked off, with Gonzo breaking Berdych in the first game :D
scolios - October 21, 2006 02:33 PM (GMT)
And the first set goes to Gonzo! :yahoo:
Actually, I've predicted to 2-1 win to Berdych, but I'm hiping that gonzo will win :D
C'mon, isn't anyone following this? The Fed-Nalbandian match was gret with so many of us rooting for fed!

Really can spell - just a God-awful typist :(

3-0 to gonzo in the second set. I expected this to be closer....definitely a three-setter!!! :o

Well, good for Gonzo. He deserves making the final, I reckon --- he's not had some good runs this year.
Or perhaps Berdych's just too scared to face Roger after what he did to Nalbandian, and decided to leave the final to Gonzo. roflmao
scolios - October 21, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
looks as if it will be my two favourites in the final :yahoo:

lol ... far too many, I'm afraid.
Anyway, Gonzo still leads Berdych by a break. :yahoo:
He could still take some lessons in bagel-baking from the master though roflmao

Just been on the beeb - the trolls aren't 'alf squirming - all kinds of contortions going on :D
scolios - October 21, 2006 02:59 PM (GMT)

I've only got ONE point so far in today's predictions and I :yahoo: 'm SO happy about it
vivahate - October 21, 2006 03:01 PM (GMT)
gonzalez really blitzed through that second set.
mightyjeditribble - October 21, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
Good lord! I didn't think I was away that long --- well done Gonzo
Anyone think he can give Fed trouble in the final tomorrow? Hasn't won a single match against him yet, I think, though I seem to remember he might've come close at Toronto. Don't think he can touch Roger in his current form, but we'll have to wait and see ...
scolios - October 21, 2006 03:06 PM (GMT)
Yes, too very quick semis today! But like you, jed, I can't really see Gonzo beating Fed, not unless fed has a major lapse of concentration, but even then, I would expect him to rally again. :ok:
vivahate - October 21, 2006 03:08 PM (GMT)
i do think federer will win rather comfortably tomorrow.

And it's best-of-five tomorrow ... can't see Roger losing so much concentration that he drops three sets!
If Gonzo plays *really* well, perhaps he can take a set of Fed. In which case he might have to brace himself for being bagelled when Roger picks it up a notch ... Nalbandian breaking in the first seemed to have that effect, in any case roflmao
liam_valid - October 21, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know whether the doubles final is best of five?
petalp - October 21, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
Just back from my travels.... Yay, Gonzo!!!!! :yahoo:
I do like Gonzo...! I think that Genie (from the beeb board) switched me on to him as much as anything else and have been a firm fan since.. :ok:
Mind you, it sounds like he cut a swathe through the match, and it turned out to be a bit one-sided.. Maybe the birdman was under par after his win over Rafa?
Fed still to win the final of course, especially with it being best of 5. Can't see Gonzo (or many others for that matter) taking 3 sets of the Fedster on a hard court, in the form that he is in.
Anyway, will still look forward to the final tomorrow.. :)
welshboy91 - October 22, 2006 08:19 AM (GMT)
Gonzo
Why did Berdych lose so easily? Well, never mind, Gonzalez won :yahoo:
