ark_28 - October 15, 2006 12:30 AM (GMT)
2nd biggest tournament in the game! so very exciting!
my team the West Indies qualified but we got beaten bad by Sri Lanka today :(
Although iI feel we have a chance in our group we are now placed with India, England and Australia, I think we will struggle with Australia but should beat India and England. England v India tommorow should be a goreat game

Hey Ark.. another cricket fan!!
Yes, the WIndies should do well.. they always do have the capacity to turn on the style in the one-day format of the game..
The England India game should hopefully be a good match. India ought to be too strong for England, but with Fred, KP in the ranks, anything could happen I guess..
petalp - October 15, 2006 10:30 AM (GMT)
England are 55 for 5! :yikes:
Oh dear...
ark_28 - October 15, 2006 10:37 AM (GMT)
England are 70-5 now pitch usnt the best so with maybe 200 England could have a chance but this Indian batting line up is very very strong so will be tough for England

Agreed.. but a lot rides on the current partnership though.. after this it's the bowlers to come in and have a swing with the bat.. they might score some quick runs, but I doubt that they will han around for too long at the crease..
Mkkreuk - October 15, 2006 10:52 AM (GMT)
Colly and Dalyrmple need to take england to 150ish....
id prefer dalyrmple to be there at the end cos hes actually a pretty big hitter from what ive seen for middlesex... (watched him destroy my team, Surrey  )
petalp - October 15, 2006 11:19 AM (GMT)
107/7 off 32 overs...:(
If they even use up their full allocation of overs then that would be a big achievement..
Mkkreuk - October 15, 2006 11:23 AM (GMT)
big innings needed from saj.....Not the one he did in the C&G Final
petalp - October 15, 2006 11:29 AM (GMT)
yes.. maybe they should adopt the low-risk approach of farming singles during the 30-40 over stage, like most half-decent one-day sides do... It's a bit anodyne, and quite frankly more than a little stultifying. But why not.. and then once past say the 42-43 over mark, start to open their shoulders and start to find the boundaries again..
Mkkreuk - October 15, 2006 11:33 AM (GMT)
Mahmood looked good but then had a rush of blood to the head....
120-8
Harmy there now...
ark_28 - October 15, 2006 11:45 AM (GMT)
125 all out pretty tough to see a way back from this for England now!

 I always say this when England are batting in the hope that they might actually do it one day!!
Why oh why oh why can they not bat with a modicum of intelligence??
Michael Vaughan was alwayws infuriating in that way.. a qwuickfire score of 14 from him was never useful... I'd sit him down and make him watch recordings of Rahul Dravid in one-day matches as an example of intelligent one-day batting.. (and just ignore Rahul's ill-advised (inevitable) half hearted stint for India behind the stumps for the time being....)

Great result for the WIndies today, beating Australia by 10 runs!!
Makes the England Australia match at the weekend an interesting one.. :)

Im soooooooooooooo chuffed things have been rough for us the last few years but we slowly getting back up and results like this make it all the worth while :)
I think we are favourites to qualify now from our group as we pretty much need to win one of our next two matches against India or England and on current form I think we should!
ark_28 - October 21, 2006 07:50 AM (GMT)
Well its England Australia today!! Lucky for me I can watch this age old rivalry without too many nerves as my team already beat Australia and arent playing today! but I think it will be a good match I just think in ODI Aus aer going to be too strong but you never know.

Come on England!!

I was at the last ICC match between these two teams.. and "glenda" was right near us.. he was being a bit of an a**e, if the truth be told..
83/1 though.. not too shabby at all, I'd take that :ok:
Mkkreuk - October 21, 2006 12:18 PM (GMT)
disgracefully bad position now. how can you go from 83/0 to 151/9?!!!
thats awful
only colly making a meaninful contribution after the openers...
ark_28 - October 21, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)
169 all out on what is meant to be a very good pitch from being 83-0 its Australia to lose now

ark_28 - October 24, 2006 10:24 AM (GMT)
Its start back today South Africa play Sri Lanka in a must win game for South Africa
We play India on Thursday its a big game for us even though we have agreat record against them this year beating them at home will be hard, England on saturday on current form should be a lot easier! just hope my cos comes to the party ;)
ark_28 - October 26, 2006 09:59 AM (GMT)
India V West Indies
India 45-2 Cone on West Indies :)
ark_28 - October 26, 2006 01:00 PM (GMT)
223-9 India
Testing score on these wickets for us to chase but I think we should do it and secure our spot in the semis :)
ark_28 - October 27, 2006 10:17 AM (GMT)
Well we beat India was only by 3 wickets in the end but a win is a win! we have now won 2 out of 2 and this win puts England out, we play England now in a meaningless match on Ssturday
ark_28 - October 28, 2006 08:20 AM (GMT)
Our game against England is on soon pretty meaningless but Im hoping we can keep our winning form going
petalp - October 28, 2006 11:43 AM (GMT)
Well, it looks like Crystal Gayle and Juliet Bravo are really giving the England bowlers some punshment here.. 177 for 1 off 35 overs.. and Brian Charles still to come! Could be a thrid win for hte WIndies and of course and a 0-3 result for England..
ark_28 - October 28, 2006 12:41 PM (GMT)
272-4 Excellent stuff for Bravo first ODI century! and great knock by Gayle and cameo by Sarwan!
We should be able to defend this score but we have never faced Pieterson Before so we will have to get him out pertty quick!!
Go West Indies!!
Mkkreuk - October 28, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
Wahey! England win by 3 wkts! brilliant 90* from KP!
nice consolation victory.
ark_28 - October 28, 2006 05:25 PM (GMT)
Pretty dissapointing stuff really, our bowling and fielding was all voer the place and it seemed like we were playing without any real motviation!
Encouraging part though is that despite this attitude and carelessness we still could just as easily have won!
We will certainly have to play the semis as we played the first two games and not like today! if we are to defend out crown
petalp - October 28, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
Good win for England!! Not helped by the odd dubious decision, from what I've heard so far.. was it Bravo who claimed a catch that clearly bounced? :tsk:
Great stuff from KP, and Mahmood having a good slog too.. nice to end on a positive note, and at least have one win under their belt, pre-ashes..

Let me defend my player! Bravo never claimed the Catch at all!!! He just fielded it and Yardy walked without stopping or looking or anything next thing Yardy was off the field and Lara and the boys congratualated Bravo who looked very suprised! If the batsman naive enough to walk off the ground when the fielder hasnt appealed or claimed the catch then it his is problem not Bravos.

Player suitably defended!
I didn't realise that Bravo hadn't claimed the catch.. Then why on earth did Yardy walk?!! Dear oh dear..
Anyway, it was efffectively a dead rubber.. England have a pyrrhic victory, and also some extra rest time prior to the Ashes.. And The WIndies look in good shape as cup holders, and good luck to them! :ok: I think that the semis should be good contests.

Thanks mate, I think the Semis should be pretty good I think we have a shot to go all the way but you can never count out thos Aussies this is the one title to elude them! and I wish your team well for the Ashes :)
ark_28 - November 3, 2006 09:58 AM (GMT)
woohoo So Australia beat New Zealand
and then my boys West Indies thrash South Africa to seal a place in the final along with Australia, we are not letting our trophy go without a fight. I think on form and the way its been going we certainly have a shot on sundays final
Mkkreuk - November 5, 2006 09:28 AM (GMT)
windies off to a stonker!!!
49-0 after 5 overs.
brett lee has already conceded 36 runs of 3 ovs. Chanderapul got 6 runs off a MASSIVE EDGE!!! :o
