Title: Leika
Description: an rpg for er...anyone?

DragonLady4 - April 20, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
Hey Batch you want more stuff here so I thought I'd put one of the many worlds in my head :P onto paper...or pixel. Its a pretty solid world if I can describe it properly.

Right

Leika is a world the same kinda size as ours, with human living on it, same species etc (only their eyes are a sliiightly diff shape, but lets not get technical.)

Well, they're not exactly like us. They each have a magical power. Its genetic, and if you want to get scientific its actually a recessive gene that our scientists haven't found. Us Earth humans have the dominant one - no magic. Leikans almost all have magic, and each person has a specific type. It settles around the age of 21. So kids can do a lil bit of everything, and teens have their magic narrowing down but stronger, and over 21's have a specific magic(dala). They don't usually have a family name (or magic) but instead use their magic as a title. You know, ...umm...Firedancer or something. Gottit? Good. Now, lets see.
The other really different thing about Leika is (you guessed it, Batch) dragons. They're everywhere. The domesticated one's tend to be small enough to perch on a human's shoulder, and they're really loyal. The wilder one's tend to be much larger, altho they can get smaller. When the little one's get 'reminded' of their magic in them (a small spark of magic will do) they can grow larger and more powerful.
No guns in Leika, they're modern - for their world, but instead of guns etc they use magic and dragons to fight. The odd sword/dagger may appear, but otherwise its all magic.

They use their magic to traverse worlds, sometimes bringing back wonders and culture, and sometimes hoards of people after Leikan blood for interfeiring. We on Earth don't really know about them.

Now, on Leika there are several factions, with their alleigances and rivalries and (dare I say it) vendettas. The two main rivals are the GoldenDragon and SilverBlade factions. Erm..(racks brain) The GoldenDragon faction leaders and their families are characterised by dark, sometimes black hair, bright blue eyes, and a tattoo with a dragon on it somewhere. (tattooing in Leikan factions will be posted later, as....I can't remember it...) The SilverBlade faction are characterised by being tall and having...grey eyes, I think. Also a sword tattoo. I'll have to check. (professional, huh?)

Also on Leika there are Dracosiani ('Dragonfriends') They attract and understand dragons more than the other humans, and the most promenent being the DragonLords (or Ladies) who are part of wild dragon colonies and are actually more dragon than human, taking on their traditions and speaking their ancient language.

More stuff coming soon, once I either remember or dig out the details but that it mainly. The rest is just details and language. Oh, and dragon colouring. They change colours depending on mood. I'll get that for ya Batch.

There you go.

DL4 :)

Good background, have any ideas for a plot (i.e. a quest to kill the rival faction, a quest to kill a big fat dragon etc?)

DragonLady4 - April 20, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
big fat dragon indeed! *pokes DD with potato on stick*

Mainly it could be people getting caught up with the warring factions. That would be the most interesting.

Also: SpellStones. They are a type of stone that can give magic to magicless people (such as people from other worlds, and they help translate the Leikan language)

Hmm..and the language, I can remember a bit:

Ani - friend
Yaiciani - heart friend, ie lover etc.
Dracosiani - dragonfriend
umm...
Si'na - faction leader (male)
Si'nae - faction leader (female)
Si'nale - son of a faction leader
Si'nalae - daughter of a faction leader

I think I got them right....
dala - a persons personal magic.

Thats all for now.

DragonsDomain - April 20, 2004 02:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah I like it, instead of rp'ers being on the same side and working together for a common goal there could be rp'ers from rival factions going at it hammer and tong.

I have a great idea, we could have the rp'ers in the two rival factions. They have to race eachother to a magical artifact which they'll use to destroy their rival faction.

A person acts as a Dungeon Master and sets them traps, puzzles, battles etc which they must successfully accomplish. They must get to the artifact without losing many people otherwise there will be a disadvantage for them in the final war. ;)

I think we can make something huge out of this, what does everyone think?

DragonLady4 - April 20, 2004 02:21 PM (GMT)
that DM being you, huh? :P

ack, sound good.

We nee dmore faction names, and if people don't want to be in a faction, or their character don't fit, they can be travellers from other worlds either accidentally or purposefully brought in and whipped up into the intriege of the factions.

The Thought Fox - April 21, 2004 08:10 AM (GMT)
Hmm, DD seems more of a faction leader than a DM to me, but whatever.

Anyway, sounds fantastic (aside from DL4 stealing my SpellStones :P *sharpens potato on stick*). How many people do you think we'll need for this though? Could we start and let people join as we go along?

More importantly, can I play? :D

I might go and make a new character for this...*runs off*

DragonLady4 - April 21, 2004 10:27 AM (GMT)
hey! I did NOT steal the spellstones! I started this story...umm...let me see...I started Leika just before Year 11, and used it for my GCSE English story. So there :P

I hadn't read your story by then, so it just must be that great minds thang.

The Thought Fox - April 21, 2004 11:03 AM (GMT)
Ah-ha! I started the SpellStones during MY year 11, a year before you!!

Let the legal battle commence! Call the lawyers!!!

DragonLady4 - April 21, 2004 12:11 PM (GMT)
*^*^%*&% off, Its just a story, jeez. lol!

Anyhoo, I'd better explain how MY spellstones are diff to yours.
They store magic, and have to touch skin to work.
The attraction in them is that if you got a lot you could store and release a large amount of magic, therefore wiping out a lot of stuffffff...

I rawk.

DragonsDomain - April 21, 2004 12:20 PM (GMT)
Sounds sweet, and yes, I would rather be faction leader

Oh, btw Batch, what EXACLTY were you sharpening that stick for?

Er, never mind, I'd really rather not know :ph43r: ;)

The Thought Fox - April 21, 2004 01:25 PM (GMT)
lol

DragonsDomain - April 21, 2004 01:32 PM (GMT)
Well, me and Batch have agreed to approve it, so congrats DL4, AU's first rp is your's :D

All you'll need to do is solidify the plot a bit (may I recommend Quick Drying Cement?) ;)

DragonLady4 - April 21, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
well, I'll need to know how many people are in it first...and get some characters approved.
I can't really have an epic plot with like 3 people in it, can I?

DragonsDomain - April 21, 2004 02:33 PM (GMT)
Well, if those 3 people are Superman, Einstein, and God, it would be very, very epic ;)

But I agree, so we need people. About 3-5 in each of the factions, minimum of GoldenDragon and SilverBlade.

I'd like to put myself forward as a member of the warlike CrimsonTide faction.

*The CrimsonTides predate to the elder times where only 3 large factions dominated Leika. Centuries of tension and skirmishes between these 3 - Golden, Silver, and Crimson - exploded into all out war following the assasination of one of the Crimson's si'nalae (princess) by a mercenary hired by the SilverBlades, who attempted to make it look like the GoldenDragon's fault.

The CrimsonTides launched their fleets and with all haste sailed to the Kingdom of the GoldenDragons, and invaded. In the bloodletting which followed the crimson si'na discovered the truth and together the two factions declared war on the SilverBlades...

....more to follow tonight, school just finished.

DragonLords and Dracosiani in Leika

Dracosiani are humans who can sympathise with dragons, and usually attract them, because drtagons can sense them, in a way. Some Dracosiani live with Dragon Factions, groups or families and help them, especially with human affairs.
DragonLords (or Ladies) are powerful Dracosiani who have large dragon factionjs almost under their control, although if the dragons disagree with a decision, it's not going to happen. :P DragonLords often spend most of their time with their factiosn, and are sometimes more dragon than human, and tend to use their magic as a dragon would. They sometimes wear dragon skins, which are shed as a young dragon grows, and are expensive to buy, although easy to come across if you are Dracosiani. Dragonlords are much respected and also expected to help local inhabitants, if the need is great enough.

Name of a DragonLord - Zoronathaito - bio coming soon in character creation. MY character!

The Thought Fox - April 22, 2004 11:15 AM (GMT)

Hope to see you there, Lugana!

Any characters welcome, even from other worlds!

The Thought Fox - May 5, 2004 11:03 AM (GMT)
I think we're ready to start. I'll stick a notice in the AUTHORS UNITED forum to encourage people to sign up. How many people do we need?

DragonLady4 - May 6, 2004 12:05 PM (GMT)
amap

Shall I put a kinda backgrounding starting post in the rpg section?

Lugana - May 12, 2004 07:19 PM (GMT)
It is strongly encouraged but not required to post some background information. I would in the case of this rpg because we do not have set characters. It’s your choice nonetheless.

This rpg is officially approved!

To continue my earlier post...

...However the GoldenDragons betrayed the CrimsonTides by turning on them in the midst of battle. It became a complete massacre, where many of the brave Crimsonbloods fell. However, Prince GreyScar, the courageous champion of the CrimsonTides slew the greatlord of the GoldenDragons in mortal combat, leaving a confused and leaderless Golden army to be slaughtered by the adrenalin pumped SilverBlades.

The Crimson's have since held an uneasy peace with the SilverBlades, but are in constant combat with the GoldenDragons, who lust for revenge for that battle long-ago.

DragonLady4 - May 27, 2004 01:20 PM (GMT)
sounds good!

oh, plus they all want the spellstones, right? :)
