Several months ago I posted a notice about a contest for short stories that is being held to celebrate the debut of a new web site www.tribeca.net, a multimedia commmunity oriented site with shows devoted to a range of interests including food, humor, news and most relevantly books and writing. The writing site is called Comma. The contest, which will run until Labor Day, has only a few rules -- stories should be approximately 1500 words and in some way deal with New York City (it could be an imaginary New York or a fantastic New York; you don't ever have had to visit to write about it.) That's because tribeca is based in the city. Several stories are already posted on the site and I invite all of you to have a look. First prize is $500. Winners will be decided by visitors to the site who choose to vote. Contributors are also welcome to put up their own blogs, add video and audio content or photos and graphics. They can also promote other work they've done. For details you may write to me -- I'm the managing editor of Comma -- at leshorvitz@tribeca.net. I'm looking forward to seeing your work.
