Title: The Infantry
Description: New Here, Introducing my work.

aidanjareth - July 3, 2006 04:51 PM (GMT)
Hello All,

I am new to this forum, so thank you for taking my post into consideration.

I am looking for help on a new project I have just started.

I post daily to a fictitious blog called "The Infantry"

You can reach the site here:

http://theinfantry.blogspot.com

It would be much appreciated to get any feedback from all directions, and what I'm really seeking now is objective opinions such as those from the individuals on this forum, rather than the polite encouragement that close friends will inevitably give.

Thanks very much, I look forward to meeting many of you and reading the work that is developed here.

all the best,

alexander

Welcome to Authors United, nice to have you aboard. I'm the Thought Fox, and I look forward to reading some of your work. Got a lot of reading to be doing!

EDIT: I read your infantry blog thing. It's an interesting style, and there's definitely passion in the writing, but I must confess i'm a little slow and don't seem to understand what it is that you're doing.

Hello,

I'm not necessarily sure I know exactly what I'm doing yet.

Thus far the effort is to write the manifesto and diary of the activities of a fictitious splinter group of the French Legion at the turn of the 20th century. So thus far the writing is a recruitment effort detailing the individuals associated with the group and some preliminary information about their efforts.

The piece as a whole (if it can be called a piece) is meant to be humorous, slightly confusing, and more than anything entertaining, and mostly as a daily writing tool for me.

If everything is unclear at the moment that's probably understandable.

Hello and welcome to AU!

I find your writing interesting, especially since it's on a blogspot (which can be a good way to get recognised, with the right exposure), and I've never seen anything done quite like it. Which is good, by the way.

Thanks for your feedback DragonLady.

I've managed to confuse a great number of people in terms of their responsibility to the site, whether it is actually me writing, whether i've just happened upon some eccentric french soldier's writing, etc. It's all very fun in this way.

Beyond all of that it serves as a really nice way to discipline myself to write everyday, but as i pointed out before it's also nice to have an audience for the output, so thanks for reading.

Glad to be here. Looking forward to sharing my work with you.

And getting a chance to read others efforts at this nutty pastime called writing.

that FFL stuff is pretty damned good. Constant meandering description is a favorite device of mine, although I'm not so good at it. The first blog actually worth reading, I'd say (although, seeing as how most blogs merely keep you up to date on how many times the user sneezed on a given day, I'm not sure how much of a compliment I'm actually paying you)
