Title: Energy Wave Tutorial
Description: For the my pre-set RPG
Lugana - April 6, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
This is a tutorial of how to use an energy wave. This is a very important part of the Pre-set RPG I am developing. It will be mostly Three and myself playing the parts, but there will be a couple characters that can be played by other members. I decided to post this tutorial in here before I place it into the Pre-set Submission so I can get some feed back before I post it. If you have any questions or suggestions, please please please post them! It is very difficult to write using surreal imagery and I need all the help I can get. Well here goes nothing….
An energy wave is my trademark attack. As the theory goes, every living thing is surrounded by energy or what is known as an aura. In my world there are three commonly found energies, which are light, impartial, and demonic. An energy user, or phoenix warrior, uses his mind to pull energy from his surroundings into his body and then transfers it into an object. (I tend to use a sword for energy waves). Energy has a natural tendency to want to return to it owner, so the more energy one holds, the harder it is to retain it. Once relished it fires out in a burning wave at the opponent(s). Once the wave diminishes the energies return to their rightful owners.
If you have a light energy aura, you can safely draw light and impartial energies. If you have a demonic energy aura, you can safely draw demonic and impartial energies.
Lets say you have a light aura and there is some light energy in the area, but there is also some demonic. The phoenix warrior cannot just begin to pull the light energy because demonic energy may come along with it, even if the user is concentrating hard to pull only light energy. It is too risky that the user might pull some demonic energy by mistake. If demonic energy enters the light phoenix warrior’s body it might either kill the user or drive him insane. To stop demonic energy from reaching the phoenix warrior, the user must first construct an energy shield.
To erect an energy shield, the phoenix warrior first needs know how to create an energy ball. First he pulls energy towards him, but before the energy can enter his body, he must push out with his mind and keep the energy stationed in one spot outside the source.
Once the ball is created, the user then stretches the energy out into a wall. From there he can either wrap and close in a source, or leave it as is hoping none of the bad energy will pass over or around the shield.
Light and demonic energies can’t mix or pass through each other. When light and demonic energies clash, it has a similar reaction to lightning striking water. This prevents the demonic or light energies from passing through each other.
If you are wondering why an light phoenix warrior can’t push light energy towards a demonic phoenix warrior and kill him that way, it’s because the demonic user’s aura wouldn’t allow it to happen. Its natural defense system keeps all light energy at bay. The worst that can happen is that the light and demonic energies will react and shoot the demonic user off his feet. Light energy can only enter the demonic phoenix warrior's body if it is pulled in by the user himself.
It is common to find phoenix warriors with extremely powerful auras. Even if they are not aware of their ability, most have learned to draw strength from their individual energies. This gives them some nearly superhuman abilities. Mostly just above average strength and speed and powerful physical defense. Like muscles, the more they use their auras in battle, the stronger they become.
And finally, if a user overdraws from any living resource, the resource will die.
Here is a full account of an energy wave:
Lugana began to pull energy from his comrades. Realizing that the wolfmen’s demonic energy was coming along with it, he pushed the collected energy into a ball and started expanding it towards the enemy lines. He was creating the largest demonic shield he had ever attempted.
One the enemy dragons spotted Lugana and swooped down for the attack…
(In Green Child’s post he saves Lugana and encourages him)
Lugana smiled at John words and continued his forming his shield. Lugana finished collecting the energy required and wrapped it around the wolfmen at the gate and pushed the rest towards the enemy lines. It was time to charge his sword, but most the energy in the area was being tied up in the shield. Lugana’s mind felt desperately around for more energy. He found some in the grass and pulled inwards, but that would hardly be enough to kill more then five dragons, and there were hundreds of them up there. Feeling around some more, Lugana found some in an unlikely place.
Lugana turned astonished to John. John was filled with pure light energy, not demonic like Lugana had assumed from his personality. Not only was it light, but there was also a tremendous amount of it. Lugana pulled John’s energy inward hardly believing the amount of power he was receiving. He had to act fast. John was greatly weakened by Lugana stealing his energy. Once he relished the energy, John’s energy would return to after the wave diminishes.
Lugana’s sword began to glow a violent green. It became a task just to hold it inside the sword. Lugana then pulled his own energy into his sword. He felt a cold chill pass through his body and then suddenly felt as if someone had just knocked the wind out of him. He began feeling weaker and weaker as he pulled more of his own energy into the sword. He had to cut it off there. Though John’s will return to him, his energy wouldn’t. Unlike John, he was expelling his own energy from his body, causing the effect of shooting an arrow. It would have to regenerate naturally.
He looked towards the sky. The dragonriders were about to breach the city.
It was time. Lugana turned and faced the wave of oncoming dragons.
Having trouble controlling his voice, he bellowed. “John! I suggest you get behind me! If I mess up, there is going to be a lot of dead wolfmen were you are fighting!”
John obeyed without a word. This was it.
“ENERGY WAVE!”
Lugana’s sword tip ripped through the ground as he slashed upwards into the sky relishing the blinding energy. The green energy blazed violently upward, expanding as it left the sword. Lugana felt like he was on fire. The immense strain and heat felt like it might kill him. Blinded, he felt himself drifting in and out of consciousness. When was it going to end?
And then everything abruptly stopped. The heat was gone and he regained some sight. Hazily, he saw the wave was soaring upwards. The enemy dragons were engulfed in the vast power. Squinting, Lugana could see the dragons and their rider’s shadows slowly degenerating as it stretched farther into the sky. Parting the clouds, it prolonged even further until nothing but black ash could be seen. He felt the energies he had barrowed return to their rightful owners and shield was gone.
Lugana turned to John. He had taken too much of his own energy to make the wave. He was too weak. “I don’t think I can do that again for the next wave of dragonriders. We need to get our dragons to the battle!”

Hahahaha...yes *rubs hands evily* ;) , other people who are into creating fantasy-battle sciences...hehehe I like this idea alot, when is this RPG comin up??
Lugana - April 7, 2006 12:12 AM (GMT)
As soon as I finish the submission. The auditioning will be short and easy. I am thinking that I might make one of the playable characters a phoenix warrior for general members. He will be the only tough audition because the member I give him to will have to show full mastery of the energy system. Give me another day or two. I hope you join.

can i use my old character by any chance?
Lugana - April 25, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
I am really sorry man, but it is a Pre-set Rpg. I am hoping to use this Rpg as an outline for my story, or I would usually make the exception for an old friend like you. (You heard me, your Admin would brake his own rules... don't tell Thought Fox... please?)
Now that I think about it, you might be the prefect person for the main character Clairc. I was debating rather I should take him or give him to someone else. The way your old character worked is very similar to the way Clairc works with the exception of a few minor differences. You might want to audition for him. You would need to show me that you could use the energy system and then work with me to guild the story towards the climax. Really, you should give it a shot.

Do I even need to say it?
