Sorry its just like on my old site it would usually be about 30 people on at one time normally and usually around 100 guests.

I'll keep on writing though, it will be fun ^^

I know what you mean. This site has always been quite small in terms of members and it just means that if people are having busy periods the site can go quiet for a bit.

In a way its nice just having a smallish group - means you get to know the people on here well. But new members are always more then welcome and it would be great if the site could be a little more lively (put it this way, no posts gives me no excuse to avoid work!!!:lol:)

Sorry I get a bit emotional! I learnt all my skills from that place :(

We're not exactly dying, we're just limping on. We do have new members signing up, but they seem to disappear without a trace within a week or so. I know that I am on here every day (or as close to it as my uni work allows) and most of the original regulars are frequent posters.

The thing with little-known forums like this is that they always have a small membership, and expansion of that membership generally depends on two things: Bring A Friend, and Advertising (i.e. link in signatures on other forums). I even tried putting up posters at uni, but it didn't really work.

If you can think of anything we could do to bring more members, please let us know. If you have any friends, bring 'em on here - they're most welcome! :D

Thought Fox and I work hard to keep this site on a pair of crutches. I do what I can, but I don’t always have access to an Internet link and I have had some extremely busy periods lately. I don’t know if this place could have survived without Though Fox.

When it comes down to it, this site reminds me of my first high school, Pliocene Ridge. Pliocene was a K-12 school that started the year with 51 students and ended with 32. Everyone had a close relationship with everyone and we’d always greet each other with a hug. I was almost like a big family. It was up in the mountains, so it was always cool, and its shear beauty was second to none. I miss that school.

I like to see AU as my little piece of Pliocene. I have met many brilliant writers on this site and few loonies as well. I don’t need to point a finger at anyone. You know who you are. What I am trying to get at is that I have made many friends here and I am glad I created this site. I hope you enjoy our little world.

Mine:

around 1500 kids, everyone has a social group, if not you are an outcast, the groups are so devided that it limitates the friends you can have and the people that dislike you, non uniform day - usually a fight because of the way you are dressed.

So you know, also its crowded, system is corupt, un clean, uncaring.

Yeah, that and Sixth Form was always the best. Back when we first joined AU, we clogged up the messageboards for hours, but it's a little harder now that we're at uni

Yeah now they make you do long essays, projects, lectures, further reading...

I know what you mean, Aleana. I was part of an email group over the last year, but it took up so much of my time that i didn't get to post on here as much as I wanted.

yeah , i know the feeling of checking emails and stuff , and then spending ages on live journal, cuz well i joined a few too many communities, with music vids and fanfic ,and icons and wallpapers, the usual , and being on a society committe myself , tend to have to do those first and well authors united has seemed to have taken a back burner - oops

god help the summer, i wont have internet in the house, id have to camp at the library , and crap no more music vids for me - noooooooo

I'm in the midst of trying to get car insurance quotes and sort it out at mo- so don't always get as far as getting to this site everynight... also got the band i roadie for and i goings out a bit at mo- on social high lol.
I do check posts but i not always got something witty to say or story that written (trying to do nvq work too!).

The reason I signed up on here (yes people are still finding the site!) was because finding this site was like walking into am exclusive bar just for writers, and finding a friendly atmosphere where everybody knows everybody, and most seem to be on my wavelength. :D

Also, there really are some talented members here and up to now, I've not really met many other writers I could talk to, learn from, or just share my work with...

I'm gonna shut up now cos I'm rambling (I do that a lot :P )
