My body burns, falling down through eternity. Pain sears through my shoulders as the feathers are ripped off my wings, fluttering off into the fire that surrounds me, turning to ash. Tears roll down my cheeks. What I would give to get everything back, to go back to the beginning, to soar in the light again.

I hit the floor, darkness surrounding me. I hear a crunch as the light bones that made my wings fall off my back, hit the ground and smash. I watch through bleary eyes as they turn to dust, reach out to grab them, feel the powder slide off my fingers, fine and light. It caresses the tears that fall from my cheeks. My body shakes with grief.

I lost everything.
