this is part of a longer story i'm writing...
Kaden watched like lioness, hiding in the bushes with a silence and stillness so un noticable he seemed not to exist; eyes of emerald were fixed on his quarry without even blinking. He watched Kaiyo stand before the massive stone angel, which was etched out of marble and eternally gazing over the grave it protected.
She placed at the feet on the monument an ivory colored cloth of silk, which half covered a loaf of bread that looked a bit old, her gazing upward toward Radley who was perched on the shoulders with his stick in hand.
She was disppleased with his always rejecting her love and affection for him... and with the way he stayed in the graveyard day and night as if waiting to die.
"Take this Radley, i will not have you starving to death."
"You are so caring Kaiyo your father hardly makes enough money to support your family and yet you stroll to this graveyard to feed a dying, homless man."
"I...I love you Radley."
"And i wish you knew what love IS... so i could love you back."
Tears swelled in her eyes when he said that and she ran, through the fence and down the road of cobble stones that faded and transitioned into gravel. It hurt him to know he had said such a thing but he beleived it to be truthful... She was so young, almost too young he felt for her to truely love him.
Sorrowfully Radley lay his head on the head of the angel... gazing at the silk covered bread, feeling tears in his eyes as well, whispering apologies quietly to the persistant Kaiyo who was obviously too far away to hear them, but Kaden could.
Hi, Shiloh. Welcome to Authors United.
The extract is very interesting. The way you describe the scene from Kaden position (though not point-of-view) intrigues the reader. I'd like to read more and find out why Kaden is watching them.
And now let me apologise. I'm in charge of Authors United at the mo, and i like to keep things tidy, so i'm just going to move this into 'writings discussion' where we usually put the writing. I'm sorry for being picky, but don't worry, you're not the only one to do this.
I look forward to reading more of your work.
