Title: Lengthening the beginning

I'm currently rewriting the story that i started with DD (our Awol Mod). Originally, it was Chapter1:Hero gets task, Chapter 2:Hero does task, which i thought was too quick.

Now it's Chapter1:Hero gets task, Chapter4: Hero does task, but i still feel it's a little quick, especially since Chapter 6 to ? may be a little slow paced.

any suggestions on what i can put before Chapter 1 but still keeping the reader interested?

um, hero does something else

or hints at task ahead that don't make perfect sense yet

shadowy figures discussing something

hm, don't make it too long or people get bored.

Hero's gets task, must travel to the task, performing little tasks on the way? Or hero gets task and must train to accomplish it. OR maybe the hero gets the task, does task, but that leads to a twist that reveals a bigger task....

Lol. It's uncanny, but each of those suggestions are already in the story plan. Great minds think alike. Thanks, LXM
