Hiya,
Well I am a bloke, I live in the UK [Bedford, it's so crap!]. I love reading sci-fi and fantasy. My fave authors are Kim Stanley Robinson [his red mars trilogy is great], Steven Erikson [The 'Tales from the Malazan Book of the Dead' saga is the most amazing read and it's currently 6 main books long, with at least 2 inner stories (it's really confucing but well worth the read)] and Terry Pratchett, need I give reasons?
I adore writing poetry and short stories, though I haven't really done it since school and that was a long time ago. I currently get my writing fix by playing several Star Trek RPG's, mainly 'Star Trek: Freedom' it's just great.
Anything else you'd like to know? Just ask.

hi, nice to see someone new. I was going to get round to reading the steven erikson books soon so i'm glad you think there good.
Just so we know, how old are you?
PurpleWitch - June 16, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
Sorry, I'm 24.
Gardens of the Moon is the best book and it's great as a stand alone book. You'll need your head to work properly when you start Deadhouse Gates as the story really gets confusing, and it just gets weirder and weirder from there on in!
I think there is a website:
http://malazan.com/eve good resource for the Empire!

Hello! ^_^
Star Trek RPGs? I love the shows, but I think I would find it really difficult to remember all the terminology for an RPG! Sounds good though
Well anyway, welcome to the site :D
PurpleWitch - June 17, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Not at all, it's really easy to get the hang of it, as most of the stuff is on the website so you don't have to worry about making stuff up!

Ack I hate space programs (with the exception of red dwarf) but any way welcome and if people tell you me and aine are scary there lying! its all lies!!!
PurpleWitch - June 20, 2005 03:42 PM (GMT)

Hi, PurpleWitch. I'm The Thought Fox, currently running this here loony bin. I'm also on Star Trek: Freedom (GC, stop laughing!), so i assume you followed the link in my email sig to get here.
Welcome. The idea of this forum is to make friends who love writing just as much as you do. In the various writings/plot/char discussion forums you can show off some of your work that you're proud of, or that you think you could improve. We also have the contests and RPG forum just for a bit of fun.
Other than that, we mainly chat on here. So welcome, once again, and make yourself at home.
