This one's very different from what we've been doing so far, but it should be fun.
Your News Story
We all have a thousand an one stories or novels that only we know, or that we haven't finished but we know the end. For example, everytime I RP with my Jolku character, I constantly refer to a novel that only I and DD know (i.e. the one we're writing. So your task is:
Write a news story describing the aftermath or climax of one of your stories/novels. Write it in a proper news style (i.e. not too descriptive) and even give your paper a name if you want. Can be any genre
TIPS, RULES AND OTHER STUFF:
1. No more than 1000 words please. I don't have all day, you know!
2. The story that intrigues me the most, or that I would want to find out more about will win a marvellous 100 posts (although I AM working on getting a second post count!)
3. Remember that your journalists won't know everything the character knows. Think about how they would gather as much info as possible, e.g. eyewitnesses, etc.
4. ONE ENTRY PER MEMBER
5. (This one's for you Gemz) Only post entries in this forum. Any discussion is to be done in the discussion thread, so it might help if your start your post with who's entry you've just read. Any discussion posts in here will be deleted, not moved. Don't make me hit you with the Awod!
Legal, technical and general hoo-hah:
- The judges decision (i.e. mine) is final.
- I shall accept no bribes, death threats or violent beatings from those of you who know me.
- The rules will be obeyed or there shall be Repurcussions (muahaha, etc.)

The Wondering Man
All over the county there have been reports of the wondering man and at several point we, The Golden Times, have thought this man to be the missing 19 year old William Knell, whose parents are frantically searching for him.
Everytime he appears he seems to help in an astounding way and dissappear, as if he was never there. There have been ludcrious reports over this man, some say they have even a blue light shoot out from his left hand.
Such was an incendent last week, a house was on fire, and as William Knell was known to do, this unidenified stranger leapt into the building without regard for his personal safely. The man, for all agree that it was a man, went in a raging inferno after an old blind woman who could not reach the safest exit herself due to her condition. The man could not know that the fire brigade was already on it's way and that the old woman was in little immediate danger.
However the eye witness accounts have a twist, they claim, that when the old woman was brought out she had many burns over her body and she was weeping in agony even as he held her against the flaming torrent.
They further claim that the woman, who wishes to remain nameless, was then laid gently upon the ground and sang to. It sounds ludicrious to any but the seven eyewitnessess but, they then claim, he laid his hand on the air her breasts and was all the while singing a song that, it seemed could be heared even against the fire that raged against the mans back.
Futhermore they claim that the man's hand was them bathed in a blue glow, the same blue glow that William Knell is attributed to create, and everyhere that his hand passed it caused her wounds to disappear and vanish.
The Woman in question refuses to be named and would only say that she wished to thank the man that helped her and that she did NOT come out with burns but thanks to her saviour she avioded them instead.
The eyewitness story is further suspect, due to the fact that they were from a party of drinkers from the floor below.
It is also suspect because even if we believe the eyewitness acount cannot remember which hand was used and as William Knell is known to not be able to use his right hand in anymore than a limited capacity, then if it was the right it could not have been him.
We all remember the appeals at this newspaper, of the mistyfication as to why such a bright and intellengent boy would simply leave without even a Goodbye to his family. We remember the weeks of appeals by both family and friends for him to come home and we remember his father, who with tears in his eyes, offered a £75,000 pound reward for a sighting of his son.
Sadly after almost a year of empty leads and silence most have presumed this vivacious boy dead.
We can not be certain of this fact, though we can with resonable doubt say that this is so. Everyone of the eyewitnesseses for example were unable to see the man's face, because he was covered by a coat that efectively hid his face in it's collar, all the old woman can say about the face was that it was male, had mousey blond hair and grey blue eyes.
One of the strangers gloves was found near the forest edge and though there were no fingerprints to be gained by the glove itself, William Knell was known to live in forests and be almost completely self suficent among them, which could explain why he could have remained hidden for so long.
Though this paper is sincerly hoping that William Knell is alive and well, we have to wonder why he would choose to hide his face if it was him and why after almost a year he has not yet returned home.
Last year there were rumors of physical and mental abuse in the family household, yet they were dismissed by court and the offenders family were sued for slander.
All we can say to whoever the wondering man is, we thank you and ask that, if you are indeed William Knell, return to your loving family, If you are not then we wish you well and may that boy rest in peace.
Thank you Wondering Man.
Very good, but since it was the only entry you only get 25 points. Don't blame me. Blame your fellow writers.
