Title: Weekly Thought

CyanideWyrm - January 17, 2004 02:44 AM (GMT)
Hello one and all, welcome to my (hopefully) weekly thought of the week, regarding something going on in the world. Yes, they will most likely be joking in nature, and most of it should not be taken seriously, but nevertheless, here it is.

The Collapse of Internet Intelligence

Take a looksie back to the good ol' days, back before most of us were born. Back then a world-changing product hit the world. It's name was the television, and mankind believed that this wonderful device would not only bring news and information to the world, but would ultimately turn the world into a large, intelectual community.

Now, odds are you are watching either A.) some sort of comedy, B.) any show with little to no knowledge or complexity involved(Such as Fear Factor, Jackass, ect.) or C.) anything with Ashton Kutcher. Not exactly what was predicted, huh?

Now, let's look back a few years, when a new world-changing invention was introduced. Yes, it is the internet, and once again, many considered it the golden age of mankind. Well, looks like another swing and miss. What do I mean? Here, let's do a little test. Open up Google, and type in chicks, assuming we are thinking of chickens. All you need to do is scroll down but a few inches and you are already pounded with pornography and other perverted things. Not very intelectual, huh?

Why does mankind feel the need to take something with so great potential and turn it into a virtual porn store? You might as well ask why we watch the same movie over and over, even though we know exactly how it will end, and yet we are still suprised when the protagonist wins. You could ask why when one of your friends falls down, instead of asking if they're all right and helping them up you point, laugh, and call them idiots. The truth of it is, mankind is stupid, and we will probably be enslaved by another race, probably ants.

Desponded out.

Those are some very good points. TV and the Internet could be used for so much more. Why do we enjoy others pain? Why do we like seeing others naked? Us humans have so major flaws.

We humans do have major flaws but we can overcome them with time and self control.

Nicely stated Eagle.

There is still some hope for us now that we realize this flaw.

‘All we can overcome them with some self-control.’

Eagle - January 19, 2004 12:38 PM (GMT)
but humans also have to stop relying on oursleves and rely on God
