Title: Why not try it out
Description: just for the hell of it?

Ive had a few ideas floating in my mind lately, which have slowly fused together to form a single semi-plot-thingy. The only way to think of it is kind of like a Gollum issue. It involves a man who finds an item (I'm not sure what quite yet, could be almost anything), and he is slowly consumed by it. I figured it would take place in the modern times, in america, but not in a major city, so as to lessen the possible innaccuracies. Ya, pretty bare, but i'm tired and sick, so bare with me ;)

An item… hmmm. How about a necklace… or maybe a bracelet.

Were you thinking of a town-town, or an outback town?

CyanideWyrm - January 16, 2004 02:57 AM (GMT)
Town-Town, and the more I think about it, the more I want to lean towards semi-futuristic, but I can't decide. But ya, it will most likely be some form of jewelry, and if so probably a necklace.

Semi-futuristic…. Well, I can offer neat ideas for gadgets.

Full body police and army suits completely bullet and fire poof. Made from a new element, which came to earth by a small meteor.

Solar powered houses, which need no power from power lines to do anything.

Fast speed satellite-Internet. Never need an Internet jack again.

Pretty much, things that hover. Cars, boats, etc.

ummm what about a Talisman?

It's a cool idea, but it's hard to think of something suitable that has never been used before - something that would give you extra originality. Trouble is, pretty much everything's been used; necklaces, braclets, rings, talismans.

How about.....a lucky coin? Or a mask...or....no just go with jewellery!

Eagle - January 29, 2004 10:11 PM (GMT)
a sword?
a vial of some mysterious liquid?

The Thought Fox - January 30, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
What about a dagger? Or a shield? Some sort of weapon, becuase it could consue him whenever he held it.

a chocolate bar?

If it is set in one of those small towns in rural America pretty much anything is possible because I know for a fact those small towns have a lot of spookyness about them (brought about by horror movies of murders etc.)

Maybe he finds an alien artifact, or a fossil in a meteor, and it belongs to an alien race who gradually try to possess him as their host for some devious plot of theirs?

Like I say, anything is possible :P Keep at it though, it sounds intriguing.

ancient egypt styley is always good...or aztec gods. Evil gods always try to possess people. He could get possessed and try to sacrifice people to the god (am I getting into a fantasy realm here. Thought so.) Urgh. Gore.

:) cool. why not try a small armband?
If your leaning towards something semi future-type why not find something small like that. to me a ring or small piece of jewlery should be avoided vas the parallel to LOTR is obvious, a large item such as a necklace would always be on show and it is not exactly innocuous is it? if you try something more mundane and yet very old you can bring a web of history and such into it....

just a thought :D

How about a watch? A digital watch that can freeze, slow down and/or speed up time? After using it too much, his body could start to have problems with which timescale it's operating in, so he would slow down/speed up/freeze completely at awkward moments. Eventually, he would return to normal speed but very gradually slow down before freezing completely, never to move again...

Batchgc has benn watching too man childrens TV shows.....it would be a direct rip off B)

The Thought Fox - February 11, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
I realise it's not incredibly original but not much is (points to own philosophy in sig).

Plus, it's not as bad ripping off previous ideas that aren't that famous if you make them famous.

And what programmes are you on about, demon, cos you seem to know?
