Well, in Chamber of Scriptures we have of course been discussing character creation, and here are some tips you may find useful:-
DL4:- Right, I thought that our lil dorm was a bit dead atm, w/only 3 topics, so I'm adding this one. smeghead said he wanted to learn, so we shall teach.
Rule 1: Get to know your characters - so that they are consistant
Rule 2:Personalities are good - I personnaly like characters with v.strong personalities, so that they keep the reader interested and amused

DragonsDomain:-Leading on from number 2, character's with v.strong personalities can become ppredictable, so make sure they make sudden, unexpected descisions to keep the reader's interests up - it will also give them a much deeper personality and will also give you, as author, more scope with your plot.
DL4:-leading on from DD, evolving personalities or changing personalities (being affected by other characters) is good. Think about it: how much are YOU affected by your friends. I mean, I wasn't crazy till I met DD!

It sort of went off on a tangent after that post, so the rest is funny, yet not too helpful. Still, I'd like to hear your thoughts, and posts from the other Dorms as well!
