DragonLady4 - May 26, 2004 02:04 PM (GMT)
Okay, any questions on art techniques etc or tips needed, post them up here:
who's first?
Kaithar - May 26, 2004 08:47 PM (GMT)
oh me, me , me
ok. how do you overcome a lack of any artistic talent
DragonLady4 - May 27, 2004 08:27 AM (GMT)
 riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight..........
er...lets see...
start by copying pictures. Your first ones will probably be not too good, but if you keep practising and copying, you'll get better at drawing said pictures. thats how I started with dragons and manga. ^_^
Just don't give up!

What should you do if you keep giving up but then starting again....AND you have a lack of any artistic talent?
DragonLady4 - May 27, 2004 11:24 AM (GMT)
Then you should find motivation, by finding a really good picture to copy that you like :D
Don't try anything too complex though. If you like a fancy-typey pic, copy a small part of it.
The Thought Fox - June 2, 2004 06:59 PM (GMT)
OH NO, I feel the urge to start drawing and become a great artist!!
Kaithar - June 3, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
really i cant say that i do.
and i have a question too. how long have you been drawingregullally. im interestted on how long it will take to be able to draw more than a stick man.
DragonLady4 - June 4, 2004 08:21 PM (GMT)
I've been drawng since I was ickle, but different styles and things. Dragons started in er......definitely drew them in yr9...poss year 8. But they started cartoony (Batch can vouch for that :P ) and progessed as I saw different pictures of them, so, it depends. If you just want to draw.....saaaaay....Zelda *watches Batch do leap of joy* Then you copy the pics. Not tooooo hard, as they are cartoons with definite shading you can copy.
For more realistic pics, it will take longer to learn :)
Does that help at all??
Kaithar - June 4, 2004 09:34 PM (GMT)
ok. so it will take me ages. thats nice to know.
The Thought Fox - June 5, 2004 07:12 PM (GMT)
No skill is gained overnight. or talent.
DragonLady4 - June 7, 2004 10:23 AM (GMT)
Kaithar - June 9, 2004 01:35 PM (GMT)
i will have to rectify that.
*heads down to my laboratory that smeghead keeps refering to*
DragonLady4 - June 9, 2004 01:36 PM (GMT)
what, are you making a potion of lore or something? (NWN reference, which none of you barbaric non nwn-ers would understand)
(well, really a dnd ref.)
The Thought Fox - June 17, 2004 08:57 AM (GMT)
...yeah.
I just think it's worrying that Kaithar has a laboratory. Is it an evil lab, or a Dexter's Lab?
DragonLady4 - June 17, 2004 09:45 AM (GMT)
I think that it would just be a desk cos he couldn't be bother4ed to do anything else with the place :P
Kaithar - June 17, 2004 06:55 PM (GMT)
keep thinking that. it will make everything a whole lot easier
mwahahahahahahaha
DragonLady4 - June 18, 2004 08:44 AM (GMT)

I don't know. learning to draw well isnt that hard. Take a class, that's what I did. I've always loved to draw, but sucked. I took an art class to improve, and now I find myself wanting to change my major from history to art. it just takes constant practice and I mean CONSTANT practice. always remember to draw EXACTLY what you see if you're attempting to make an object look as it should. Hell, a year ago I couldnt do much more than a stick man myself, and now I'm attempting to do a comic book.
DragonLady4 - September 14, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
yeah, all it takes it a bit of dedication and effort, doesn't it? Pessimists and beginners never seem to understand that. I love to look back at my work and see how I improve :)
