Title: Gatekeeper
Description: for the Leika RPG

The Thought Fox - April 27, 2004 08:26 AM (GMT)
Part I: The easy part

Name – His true name is not known, so he is simply referred to as Gatekeeper.

Race(optional)- he appears human, but in fact he is merely a spirit, a minion of the Overseer

Occupation(optional)- Agent of the Overseer

Weapons(optional, but very highly recommended)- none, he has magic

Appearance/height(optional)/weight(optional)- in his human appearance, he appears as a young man in silver robes, with a hooded cloak to hide his features. As such, no one has ever seen anything of his face except his chin. He is slim and tall, and incredibly light on his feet, as if he is not of this earth.

Abilities- being a creature of magic, he can levitate, fly, pass through walls, send people to sleep (from which only he can awaken them) and matrerialise/dematerialise at will. He does not have any offensive or defensive skills, because if he is attacked, projectiles, weapons and even fists simply pass through him

Weaknesses- none, except an uncontrolled obediance to the overseer.

DD, do I need a Biography for this char?

Because you are an Admin, I will let you slide on the godly character.

Before I can approve it, to be fair, I need to see some background information.

Can’t wait to see the rest. :D

The only reason I'm a god-like character is because I'm going to be the dungeon master for the RPG, controlling the plot and challenging the players, etc. Won't happen again.

Part II: The Biography

There are many worlds. It is not known if Gatekeeper's world was the first one, but it is certainly one of the oldest in existence. To begin with, the world was just a void, a vacuum, emptyness. The Overseer then came into existence - it is not known how, though many theories have been created by his servants.

Unlike most gods, The Overseer had little interest in his own world, using it merely as a home for himself and his servants, and began to watch the other worlds. He created servants to keep him comfortable in his own world, and created agents to watch the others, giving them the ability to travel to any world. The first of these was Gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper has no age, and the world of The Overseer has no time, so it is impossible to say how long Gatekeeper was educated in the ways of the other world. Suffice to say it was a long time. For the early centuries of the other worlds, Gatekeeper would sit by the Overseer and watch the other worlds, learning how to use his abilities. Being a spirit, he was soon able to gift himself new abilities, enabling him to recieve no harm in any other world, but also to not cause harm to any other world - on this the Overseer was adamant: None of his agents was to interfere with the other worlds.

Once his education was complete, Gatekeeper began watching worlds from within them. He would disappear into some far-flung reality for days and watch individuals got about their destiny. Occassionaly, a disaster would arise, in which a world (or an individual in that world) would bring itself close to destruction, and the Overseer would command Gatekeeper to do anything he could to prevent it.

Gatekeeper soon became the most trusted of the Overseer's agents, commanding respect and authority among all spirits below him, and above him was only the Overseer. Now he travels the worlds, averting disasters and exploring the endless potential of existence.
