Title: New Wfb Rules.
Description: well what do you think the news?

What do you think of what we have heard so far?

I like the sound of what is happening to mages and to the fleeing units that hit other units.

I am not sure on the new overun rules. You really will have to make sure your charges are right, and the charges against you. Could lead us into the alley of magic the shite and then shoot a lot, before the charges start.

But, with all these things, we will all have to play some games before we decide truly on what they mean.

Perhaps it’s because I have been out of touch with the whole WFB hobby lately, but I feel that things suddenly have started to move too fast for me. With the release of the seventh edition rulebook and all the rumours about new army books (Orcs and goblins, Empire to name two) are all over the internet. Mechanical horses? Pigeons with bombs? Too much for me to digest at the moment and I kind of feeling stressed about it.

Kind of the same feeling I had just before the second edition Warhammer role play was released. Didn’t manage too keep up then either and I have stopped playing RPGs since then too.

Perhaps it’s time to create an account on eBay and get rid of my old toys?

Got my copy today, and i have to say, there arent that many major changes. little things have been cleaned up (much like the last ed of 40k)

Im in favour of it, but for one reason only. the battle for skull pass set.
for 40 quid i managed to get 120 night gobbos on foot (traded the dwarves for the gobbos with someone else) 2 trolls and 20 forest goblin spider riders (plus 4 charachters and some cute terrain) also a small size rule book and some more templates to replace the ones i have lost.

I cant think of an easier way for youngsters to get an army than to buy this and trade one with a mate. in GW's current money grabbing state, this represents a shocking thing, value for money! (a mate calculated that the gobbos in the box alone would cost 70+ quid)

On the new WFRP, i think on the whole both are good (i still gm both) but i am more fond of the newer ed, as it hasnt lost its shine, due to players learning all the inns and outs of it yet. and one new version in however many years it has been out is not bad going!

the trouble is, GW is in a massive flap, its in trouble, losing money on LOTR, and about to raise blister prices again. They have all those lawyers and accountants to feed, so they have to take our money! ;)

I liked the new WRFP when I tried it. The magic system makes a lot more sense as mages don't deplete their magic points in the first ten minutes of the game and spend the rest of the session being useless. Failing a magic roll is a lot nastier too....

I haven't played the new WRB yet, but I'm not sure I'd even notice the difference as I didn't have the nag of the last one! I'll give it a try though, just as soon as me and horny have a table to play on. :)
