Title: I Have Given In!
Description: I have finally turned to the green!

The Love Duck - August 19, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
Just bought some second hand gobbos, for 35 quid i got 60 odd goblin spearmen (old models) and 60 odd night goblin archers (again the old models) plus a goblin wolf chariot and a snotling pump wagon, two of the old old doomdivers, 4 fanatics (old style) 3 squigs and 3 snotling bases.

added to this i have already 40 nightgoblin spearmen (the current models) about 20 goblin wolf riders, and about 20 common goblins, 1 spear chukka, 2 shamen, 4 squig hoppers and 3 more fanatics.

i plan on getting the warhammer battle box set when it comes out and swapping the dwarves for more gobbos with a mate.

over all that should leave me with over 250 goblins! a nice start to my horde!

i know i need more squigs for a herd, but they may have to wait as they are pricey, i plan to get another chariot and more spear chukkas, any other advice on good green units to take?

I wont use a giant as its a personal pref thing, i dont like facing them myself so wont inflict them on others. and i kinda want to stick with gobbos instead of orcs.

Well, having faced a Goblin horde of over 400 models, I would rather face The Grande Point Sink than that lot again!!!

You will need a couple of Shamans, despite their tendency to explode.

A few more Chariots, and more fanatics, should have you ready to fight.

Squig hordes are fun to play with, but an expensive waste of points if you want to win a lot. You can always make something instead of buying them all.

I think not winning a lot is the point - he does that anyway!

I'm teetering on the edge of getting a Wood Elf army. *shakes head in despair* I've hardly touched the Dark Elves yet!

Yeah, its kinda a more fun army, as a change from the blackpowder empire horde, and the von carstein vampire counts.

something to put the fun back into warhammer for me. i have kinda not enjoyed it the last few times i played.

Played my friend B.H. have you?

Can’t find the time to play anymore. I can hardly find the energy to go to WFB forums anymore either. All spare time I have (which is not much) is devoted to the Blue Girl and my money is set aside for the upcoming wedding and honeymoon.

Being a grown-up is not what I expected it to be… :(

Man, that is bad news.

I am about to give up most of my spare time to re-educate myself, but I plan on having a better career at the end of it all, and thus being able to have my dream of my own study in my next house.

As for fun in games, play with sb for a while (or Blue Girl). Maybe play 'strip Warhammer' :D

The Love Duck - August 28, 2006 11:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah i know what you mean, most of my opponents took wfb way too seriously, hence why i got into 40k way more, as the people who played that my way were way more laid back. It just really bugged me, it wasnt fun.

SB is fun to play against, but she doesnt like to wargame that often, and strip MTG is a better bet against SB!

On the plus side she did enjoy the path to glory stuff that came out a while back for WFB, and im trying to get her liking Necromunda.

I know exactly what you mean manfred, being a grown up is not fun..... bills, council tax, rent, cost of furniture, ect.... it all gets a bit much.

Excuse me, I've wupped your arse several times we've played Magic! Beat you at Necromuda and that random D&D game last weekend too. :P

Not a big fan of Necromunda I have to admit, and I'm not that fussed on the sound of 40K. WFB I like though, maybe just because I like the feel of the armies more with it. Being a girl I'll only buy an army with models I like :D , which is why I'm perfectly happy to consider a second Elven WFB army, but won't play Eldar. Path to Glory was OK too.

I don't know why he's moaning, it's not like he organises sorting any of it out.... :P
