hi guys an dolls i just got me a box of chaos termy and opened them to find two different types of bases the normal slota ones and the new plastic termy ones thatt are slightly larger.

now has there been some sort of rules change that i aint herd of regarding this or what ??

i mean it changes things in clouse combat too withh larger bases you carnt get as many in to base to base contact.i think il stick with the smaller ones for now.but what do you guys think.

Well there hasnt been a clarification for base sizes in 40k, unlike warhammer, which had one last year....

my gaming group use the larger bases now for the termies, in efforts to keep things more equal for termies on both sides of the board...

but since there has been no official word, you can just make your own mind up.

I believe it is mentioned somewhere I'll just go look...

Got it, page 6 of the 40k rulebook:


'BASES

...Games Workshop minatures are usually supplied with a base and this should be viewed as the minimum size base they can be mounted on - you can mount them on something bigger if you wish, but not something smaller.'


Now, Space Marine Terminators are now all supplied with the larger 40mm base. Also, if you read the 40k clarifications thread on the offical GW forums it states that the updated rules for Space Marine Terminator rmour also applies to ALL termiantors including GK and Chaos (as such they can now deepstrike without the deepstrikme rules being in play). As this is the case it's safe to assume that the chaos terminators do need to be mounted on the larger bases.

ho well never mind such is life i dnt know why people want to deep strike with termys any way its crapp iv got an seven man cc termy sqwad for my salamanders that iv had to buy a crusader for. :angry:
