saw this on another forum, wondered what people here made of it.
LOW FANTASY
Each army may have one Exception for each full 500 points being fought. If you just cannot build an army with that few Exceptions, do your best. If you need more than four Exceptions, the Exceptions are listed in the order of priority and so an Exception at the end of the list is more acceptable than an Exception at the head of the list. Note that some models may count as more than one Exception. For example a Lord Level Wizard counts as a minimum of two Exceptions (Lord, plus one for each spell over two plus a probable Exception for cost over 150 points).
The following restrictions are in addition to any army restrictions in place, not in place of them.
No large monsters or large Characters allowed. A Large Monster or Character may be taken as an Exception.
No flyers. A unit of flyers or a single monster flyer but not as a mount for a character may be taken but counts as an Exception.
No Lord Level characters. A lord level character may be taken for one Exception.
Only one character in the army who must be the general. Each additional character counts as one Exception, even if the character is required.
No character or model may cost more than 150 points including magic items. Each additional 50 points counts as an Exception.
Only one Heavy Cavalry unit (Armor save 3+ or better) may be taken per full 1000 points in the army. Additional Heavy Cav units may be taken but count as one Exception each.
No more than two levels of magic. Each additional level of Magic counts as an Exception.
No magic item costing over 25 points. Each magic item costing more than 25 points counts as an Exception.
Only one special choice allowed. Each additional special counts as an Exception.
No rares. Each rare counts as an Exception.
One war machine or chariot slot in total. A second war machine or chariot slot may be taken as one Exception. So war machines or chariots that come two to a slot count as one for this rule also. A unit of chariots counts as one chariot slot.
(Edited) No Skirmishers can count versus the Core requirements. Except for Beast Herds, no Skirmisher unit can be used to meet the army’s Core requirements. Each Skirmisher unit taken to meet the army’s Core requirement counts as an Exception.
I think its a good alternative to huge battles where everything can be contradicted by a spell. This way everything is a lot simpler, i would play it but my army isnt ready, i play on having a chaos force in the next 2 months, hopefully. I will try a demo list when i get the codex for it.
