You Will Be Learning to make something simliar to this:

1. Start out with a Background for your sig(can be grunge, Abstract, tech, whatever) I will be using this:

2. Now, you need a render. Choose one that is fairly tall, so it will stick out of the sig some. Im usin this:

3. Next, paste the render where you want it in your sig and duplicate it. Choose one of the layers with your render on it and cut it down like this:

4. Make a new layer and fill it with black. Then, put it behind the background layer.

5. now, take the polygonal lasso tool and cut out a jaggedy pattern on the background layer around the bottom of the render you cut off the bottom of. When you clea it, you should see the exposed black layer behind the render.

6. Next, take the second layer with the full render on it, and delete the top half of the render to make both render layers look like 1 full render:

7. now, take the bottom half of the render layer and put it behind the background but in front of the black layer.

8. now, select the top half of the render layer and go to blending options. Then check bevel and emboss, and drop shadow both on their default settings:

9. Now, Select the newly beveled layer, and make a layer mask on it. Go to gradient tool, and set it to go from black-white. Now drag the gradient form the bottom of the render too the top until it looks like it fades right into the bottom part of the render.

10. now, select the background and go to blending options. Check Bevel and Emboss with size of 4, then choose any contour you want that you think looks good:

11. Now, Add some color and throw on some text and a border and your done!
My Final Product:

You can also expirement with diferent blending options to get a much different effect.
