Title: Food and Behaviour

Having watched a programme on TV about sugar and the effect it had on three teenage boys who had been excluded from school we took the step to monitor Andrews daily intake. It's frightening. We have noticed his behaviour is better with less sugar and are trying now to encourage him to see that he benefits from eating more fruit and less sweets and chocolate.
It's early days but we will let you know how we are going. :)

:P Hi Everyone

Since my last post, Andrew has been 'snacking' on sunflower seeds. He loves them. He even wanted to take them instead of crisps when he went on a school trip. He managed to get the teachers to try them as well!!! :D

Hello I am new to this forum but my 8 yr old son has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and a Severe Tics Disorder, there is also a chance he may be Dyslexic too, I am interested in finding out from other parents whether a particular diet works and helps control some of the symptons of ADHD.

HI! I find that minor adjustments to diet help my daughters ADD symptoms. nothing major but I steer clear of preservatives , & artificial colorings & flavorings as much as possible & cook most meals from scratch. I never give her artificial sweeteners & I cut back on white sugar as much as I can. I also give her supplements of Omega3 & vitamin E. Her focus has improved. I can tell the difference in her immediatly if shes eaten junk food! She gets wound up & her focus is gone.
