Do you think that it is possible for ADHD to be NOT associated with any other condition ?
If you read up about other conditions there are a lot of similarities between ADHD and other conditions. How do we as parents know if our children are affected by these conditions? And what do we do if they are ?

I think it is poss for ADHD to come alone if u r lucky!. My son is one of the unlucky ones. His came with Dyslexia ( sorry can't spell ) Hypermobility AS plus learning difficulties. :rolleyes:
As far as what do you do? Well theres not alot you can do. Just except your special child the way he/she came. love them and do your best by them.
Take each day as it comes.

Hi all! well its very rare i've heard anyone say that their child has adhd alone.My son is waiting for dx of adhd but its also suspected he has asd
I have no other conditions - I had circumstantial depression during my divorce but have never suffered from depression otherwise - and I have no learning disabilities - I was Trustee's Honor Roll when I went back to college with a perfect grade point average - never had any problems in Grade School I was straight As until about 5th grade - until then I was a perfect academic student, attitude was something else
but I had no distractions really and one of my symptoms is hyper focus - I was hyper focused on school until then - that's when my parents started their own business which we kids were active in and that's when my academics went right in the toilet - I was up and down through 8th grade depending on how able my teachers were to keep my attention - I was recommended for all honors classes in HS based on testing, but I knew I'd never be able to focus so I went with regular classes - and barely made it out of High School - not from any learning disability, but attitude and lack of focus - I was all over the place - plus I was working and doing sports - lots of jobs, and too much/many distraction for school and I failed a lot of classes - I had also found boys by then
but it was never a question of not being able to do it per-se - just not being able to achieve balance because the next shiny thing and I was off like a shot
my son has always had a problem with focus in school - I've made a career of meeting with teachers and administrators - he had severe depression during the divorce - he spiralled into decline - I'd see him doing the work and it still never made it to his teacher's desk - which led to even more frustration, anxiety and depression - same deal though, never a question that he had any learning disability, he "could" do it fine - he just didn't - and he knew he could do it, and he knew he wanted to, and he knew somehow other people managed it, he just knew he wasn't and couldn't figure out how to get it done - finally he just gave up all together and we went through many years of hell
