Title: Phoebe (our English cat) has gone missing...

Bridiej - July 1, 2008 09:12 AM (GMT)
...since we moved the cats have been out a few times and love it. Yesterday since the sun was shining I let them out. Last saw her about 11am in our garden. Nippy came in as he always does but no sign of Phoebe. Malc spent most of afternoon/ eveningout calling for her and he has come home early from work today to look, have done leaflet drops and asked neighbouring properties but to no avail.

Am gutted, we brought her all this way and finally she gets to enjoy a bit of freedom and she's gone.

It's the not knowing that's the worst :( :( :(

I keep telling myself "it's only a cat" but of course as all pet owners know, they are more than that...... :(

Yes they are. and :crossfingers: for Phoebe.

gobbyjock - July 1, 2008 10:49 AM (GMT)
Hope you find her ok Bridie :)

tiredwithtwins - July 1, 2008 10:50 AM (GMT)
ive heard of this happening a few times ... and im pretty sure they usually come back within a week or two - they are so busy exploring and eating the local birds their natural instincts kick in and they come home when they miss their comforts.

hoping phoebe comes home soon ... i totally know where you are coming from, a cats love is unconditional

Snappy - July 1, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
How far away did you move from your old place are you Bridie?

I hope she comes back soon for you :(

:flowers:

Pommygirl - July 2, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
I'm with Sasha, have a look where you used to live.

Hope she's ok.

Bridiej - July 2, 2008 04:56 AM (GMT)
i dropped a leaflet in on our old place on the way back from katie's vaccinations...

TBH though I cant see it myself... she's just not the character to wander off far, she's always stayed close to the house even when she was in England... I'm sure she's stuck in a shed somewhere, just hope she's let out before it's too late...

:(

rjs - July 2, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Hope she turns up :( :crossfingers:

ohippy - July 2, 2008 07:34 AM (GMT)
cats do tend to wander off when they get to a new place, just have a major nose around. Was she microchipped ?

I have to say though, my cats are good mousers but they'd never catch a bird, I make sure of that.

Bridiej - July 3, 2008 01:22 AM (GMT)
Yes, she is chipped.... still our old address details BUT we are in touch with the people who bought our house, plus the phone number is the same.

ohippy - July 3, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
at least with a chip you know that if she's found she'll be returned.

I take it there's still no sign ? Have you done the websites ? posters ? rung the vets ?

Bridiej - July 3, 2008 06:16 AM (GMT)
what websites?

yes, already done leaflets and phone calls. malc said he'll try and come home earlier (or at least on time!) from work tonight and call round some other neighbours. i have this feeling she's in a shed or something somewhere... at least it's not mid-summer so she wont be boiling. just the not knowing that's the killer... :(

ohippy - July 3, 2008 07:08 AM (GMT)
Tell me about it.

Try these :

http://www.arach.net.au/~multilink/shelters.htm - email the cat websites

http://www.cat-world.com.au/forums/

also try an advert in the local paper

Anne4Terry - July 4, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
Any news Bridie? :crossfingers:

Bridiej - July 5, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
Thanks Heather, I'll give them a go....
No news Anne... TBH I've kinda given up hope.... it's been almost a week now... Malc is going out for one last look round some gardens this morning. At least if he found her little body it would be closure... OMG filling up again :( :blushing:

Melibeam - July 13, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
Any news on Phoebe Bridie. I take it she has not returned as you have not posted, but am still hoping you will find her :crossfingers:

Bridiej - August 4, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
No, no news, have given up now, it's been 5 weeks.....

Melibeam - August 4, 2008 06:24 AM (GMT)
Very sorry to hear that Bridie, the not knowing what happened to her must be terrible. I would be devastated if my cats disappeared like that

TopCat3 - August 4, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
I am so, so sorry Bridie. This would kill me if it happened to me. But they are my children.

Hi folks
Not waving, drowning.
Come up for air and hover occasionally, don't post much.

What the hell's happened round here?

Lovely to see you TC. You've been missed :flowers:

ohippy - August 4, 2008 01:38 PM (GMT)
so sorry Bridie, I know how you are feeling. Try and think of her as having got lost and been taken in by a kind family who love her dearly. It does help.

TopCat3 - August 4, 2008 01:39 PM (GMT)
Cheers Anne. I really AM going to post you that info. I'm just very dithery about doing anything at the moment. It all gets done eventually, I'm sort of in free fall.

Don't worry, not too sure when our address will be changing or what our new address will be.

You must have sensed my roar.

We were asked what we would like to see on here a few days ago and I said the first thing we must do is find our TC.

You know we can't necessarily help you with any issues you are having but we can help by sharing some chit-chat. May make you feel a little brighter.

=====

Sadly PR has departed our shores, at least for now, and with changed personel at the helm we are seeing some different ideas come to the fore.
It's just natural forum evolution.

TopCat3 - August 9, 2008 01:03 PM (GMT)
Ah nice thought Bix thanks.

I've been wading around in quicksand for a few weeks/months. Or shifting sands. Anyway it didn't feel very solid under my feet.

Things are starting to come to some stability now. My main focus is my health and my mental/emotional wellbeing.

I'm careful to not expose myself to too much input from anything at any one time. Toes in water here and there etc. Feel vulnerable.

This doesn't really make much sense does it? Sorry.

The world seems vindictive and cruel sometimes, not the world so much, but people. Quite vicious and selfish and aggressive. Then there's loss. That's devastating.

Is there a Bermuda Triangle somewhere on this forum and are Sue/Anne/Hevs likely to fall into it? If so will they meet Erik and Chris on the other side? (Not THAT other side, I mean the other side of the Bermuda Triangle)

Waiting for the next gripping installment...

Can I feel a story coming on?

No...

No.

Just another early night, methinks.

Thanks for the greetings and hugs.

TC
