Have'nt posted for almost 12 mths so thought it was about time.. we have settled in Wagga and live in a nice little place which is semi rural and it has been a bit of a stumbling block in trying to get internet services, long story but eventually sorted it and should be online in around a week, sounds weird but am actually using my brothers computer as I am in England at the moment.
Got the dreaded phonecall last week, my mum had passed away, so am here for the funeral. Have missed not being part of this family and hope to catch up soon

Lol xx

Great to hear from you Lol but I'm very sorry to hear about your mum. My thoughts are with you on that. :flowers:

I would really love to know how you have settled down in Australia - jobs, emotions, etc. But now that you've had to make this sad trip back to the UK I would actually love to know how you view the UK after a year's absence. Has it endorsed your decision to move to Australia?

I hope that through the sadness, you can have part of a nice time catching up with people and that life is a little kinder from now :flowers:

Thanx Gobby and Anne, we left Manchester on a wet, damp Sunday mornin and arrived in Sydney on a wet Monday night, the mornin after we awoke to a glorious sunny, warm day (not bad for the end of May). 4 days in Sydney doin the usual and then off to Wagga on the 1st June by countrylink.
Penpals met us at the station in a white stretched limo, and we stayed with them for eventually for 3 months. We bought our own house in a lovely place and proceeded to settle in. I have decorated almost throughout and we have added a 4th bedroom, my hubby was lucky and got a job 4 weeks after arrivin, I am now workin and so is my eldest son, my two younger ones have settled in school really well and I am so pleased for them.
We have been soooo lucky in makin this move, there have been no tantrums and no tears, I can honestly say Australia is our home. We had no intentions of goin back even for a holiday, but under the circumstances we decided I would as we could not afford more than 1 flight.
I now realise more than ever how right we were to make the decision to move to Aus, the uk feels so small, cramped, old and crowded. I fly home on the 18th and while I am not lookin forward to the journey I can't wait to be home with my family :ecstatic:

Lol xx
