Today I thought I would phone commonwealth bank and advise them that I was going overseas on Thursday and would be using my visa credit card. I only did this because last time I went I never informed them and when I tried to use same card it was declined!!!!!! The card is in my name but Jason is the main card holder, but they knew this and said no problem.
They asked me all the uaual security questions etc, said everything was fine and have a good trip.
Well 30 mins later Jason phones me from work, they had phoned him and said they suspected fraudulent use on the card and had stopped it!!!!!! even after Jason confirmed with them that I was going overseas and would need to use the card.
I am so mad I can hardly speak. Incompetent idiots, they even asked me what the last few transactions were when I was speaking to them. What is the point of having security questions if they still dont believe its you.
Now there is no way I will have a new card by Thursday. I have just phoned them and ranted about their service, and have given Jason an earbashing too and got him to phone them now to try and sort it out.
How dare they cancel the card without any good reason. This is security gone mad. You try and do the right thing and end up without a credit card.

I'm not on the best terms with Nab at the mo, after there refusal yesterday the guy on the phone chirpily (sp) asked if he could help with anything else......I think my response was "what do you think dickhead" Poor guy....I felt better though :P
I dislike all Oz banks and would just stick to my Nationwide if I could :angry:
