Title: Freecycle

griffin - April 6, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Have just come across a really brilliant site on the web - freecycle. These are lots of local sites where people can post their offers and/or requests for items they would like to give away or are looking for. Only rules are that goods are legal and no money changes hands. It's a great way to keep your unwanted items that still have some shelf life out of the landfill and it has become very popular in my town. Do you have an Australian equivalent? I just hate waste and this is one way to help the environment too. :D

we do have free recycle and I have used it many times - it's excellent  I've not got much stuff but have managed to give away loads of stuff that would ordinarily end up in the bin. Anne is still on the lookout for her wood burner though

well today I went to collect two fruit baskets, they are absolutely gorgeous and very modern. Can't understand why the lady wanted rid of them, says she doesn't use them as they don't eat fruit :o ! So now my fruit won't be rolling off the table onto the floor any more - am I well pleased

Ah, that's different then.
They have collection points around Cairns where you can drop stuff and a large store in town that sells it cheap.

 @ Bix

Free cycle you join on line then put anything on there that you were gonna chuck out, give to charity etc.

Peaople who are also on line see your "offer" and then come pick it up.

You can see their "offers" and ask away to.

Its a great way to re cycle :)
