Title: Hello from Lincolnshire - Wollongong bound!

wollongongbound? - September 13, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
Just thought I would say hello!

I'm a single parent in Lincolnshire with 2 children hoping to return to Wollongong ish area in Feb/March.

Just filling in passport forms and at the vets tomorrow to go through what the dog needs.

I'm an Au citizen so dont have the visa worries some of you have... and been trying to get back to oz for years but now I am debt free and man free I can finally do it!

My only worry is getting a job - currently Learning Resources Manager at a high school and love it, would like to get something along the lines or maybe a career change... as long as it isn't admin then I don't mind... too many years in admin, it bores me to tears!

Anyone else from the Illawarra?

ps, allo proofreader :-)

What part are you planning on moving too? The gong has the dense suburbs in the south and coastal villages in the north. I prefer the coastal side, bundles of character, great place for families, but its more expensive than the south rentwise. Saying that the south is also a nice. Plenty to do in the area, you are also only an hours drive from Sydney and if you drive an hour in the other direction, you have some of the most beautiful coast and country I have ever seen. I recommend it, we love it here.

When are you moving?

I have no idea to be honest, my uncle is in Bulli, aunt in Worrigee. I will probably land and look around when i get there, it's hard though as all my friends say Wollongong has changed so much and they wouldn't want to live there, but like to visit. But then they don't have children and getting the kids settled in good schools is my main priority.

Looking at moving feb/march time - or as soon as i can save up and sort things out here, am in the process of selling bits at the moment so I can 'see' what i want to take with us... its amazing how much rubbish one accumulates!

Bulli is lovely. We lived just up the road in Thirroul when we first got here. We are planning on moving back there next year when our lease is up (unless I can convince hubby to break the lease)

I should prob change my prof name as I'm now looking at qld... the more i think of wollongong the more i remember why I wasnt bothered about leaving (at the time!)... all my friends say it has changed so much they would never live there and the only people left that i know are probably people I wouldnt want to bump into... So qld is my next search!
