Title: More new ones!!!

michelle24 - July 17, 2007 07:59 AM (GMT)
Hello everyone,
We have been following this forum for some time now and would like to introduce ourselves! I am Michelle,32 and hubbie Henk is 40. We have 2 fab kids, Lucy,6 and Harry,3. I am English and Henk is Flemish and we are currently living in Belgium ( past 5 years ) and will hopefully be joining the MASSSIVE international community in Perth in the near future. We started the whole process in Feb of this year, had successful TRA result and have just received aknowledgment of our visa application ( 136 ). Now comes the waiting part! The weather here is soooooooo crappy, we are chomping at the bit to get out of here! Thanks to everyone who has inadvertantly answered a lot of our questions in the past and given us plenty of giggles also! Expect a heavy onslaught of annoying questions from us at regular intervals!!! Really looking forward to making cyber mates and eventually 'real life' ones!!! We are a fun loving family who are all totally nuts and up for any kind of laugh!!! BRING IT ON!!!!
Michelle, Henk, Angel Lucy and Buggerlugs Harry! :new:

G'day Michelle, Henk, Lucy and Harry ... :welcome: to the nut house!

If you've been reading for a while, you will have seen a bit of us but, of course, now you can see just how mad we all really are cos you can see the Piffle & Pish forum now that you've registered. ;)

Congrats on getting your TRA sorted out. What type of occupation are you coming over on?

Look forward to seeing you around (or a square  )

Cheers :redwine:
PR

Hiya!
Hubby is applying for visa, 1st class welder. So far it's gone well :) We are hoping the rest runs as smoothly, mind you, we busted our butts to get this far in a short time, gonna be totally worth it though.... it's gonna be hard to sit on our hands for a bit now(!) House is on market, already getting rid of all the unwanted junk and minds on the plane south! Henk still has own business but I quit in April ( childcare-what was I thinking!?) so I get be a lady what lunches! ( and necks the odd glass of red too!) :redwine: Good to know ya..........

Hey Sam,
We are heading to Perth and can't bloody wait!!! :)
How is it there for you?
M :redwine:

I'm in Brisbane, Michelle, and have been for the last 30 years. Well, apart from spending the better part of the last four years in UK (Grimsby of all places! )

With your attitude, I'm sure you'll fit in well in Oz.

Oh, and I'll drink to having another red, red wine drinker on board. ;) :redwine:

Pretty good now

I've had my ups and downs but i think i'm finally there now, been here 9 months sitting here listening to the cookaburras singing their evening song as its just got dark

When do you hope to get here, i'm always up for a ladies lunch (providing we can have a glass of wine)

michelle24 - July 17, 2007 11:30 AM (GMT)
Hey,
It's hard to say when we'll actually arrive but in an ideal world it will be in time to avoid the winter here, all depends on house sale really. Thinking it might not be so clever to get there in the height of a Perth summer, so maybe one last christmas here ( or with parents in UK ) and then there's no lookin back. In our eyes we see this as a one way ticket with a determination to make it work, although I am totally expecting to have bloody hard times ( it took me 3 years to adjust to living here in Belgium-not there and never will be!!!) but I think maybe half the battle is knowing this and taking off the rosey glasses before you even begin. In my heart it is the right thing for my family. It'll defo make the transition easier to have a drinking buddy or 2 along the way!!!! I have great friends here ( mostly English and Aussie's - how ironic ) and without them I wouldn't be here. If it all goes tit's up with the visa ( God it won't )I know it'll be easier to stay here knowing I've got my mates, there's not a chance in hell of me going back to England-EVER!!!!!!!!!!! So watch I'm a comin!!!!
Michelle.............

michelle24 - July 17, 2007 01:46 PM (GMT)
Welllllllllll, I've been on some nutty ( or sensible, depends which way you look at it ) health kick, up until that point I was a vodka, brandy, beer kinda girl, but according to my crazy ass dieticiaan ( actually she's great! ) red wine is the healthiest option if I must insist on the poison that is alcohol, but I slip into old habits very easily if I've had a few!!!!!!!!!!! Ho hum............I could go on........it's my fav topic!
M.... :drunk:
