Title: TRA application
Description: Agent timeline

:dunno:  just a query re. TRA aplication. I know you'll think I'm barmy but I don't want to go down the road of pestering our agent every two mins so thought I'd ask you guys what you think? We filled our initial TRA form in for the agent in dec. and he came back with a couple of queries which he said when he had our answer back he would start drafting the forms for references and we've not heard from him since.I sent him the answers he requested but haven't heard from him since. I know we've had xmas/new year and the office was closed for a week in jan. so I don't know whether this is normal time period or if we should be chasing it up a bit? Because it is such a long process (the whole emigration thing) I don't want to get paranoid every time I start thinking I should hear and get the agent fed up with us by hounding him, plus I know he has other customers but well.... you know what i mean. I can see the time lines for visas but there isn't much about the TRA process. We're with John Nye at AMSAS.

Why not just send a wee email asking if it`s been sent off or if they`ve heard anything yet. Yes they do have other customers but you are paying them to do this for you :) . Did he give you an idea of how long it was taking for TRA at the mo I know when we got ours we had the answer back in about 2 - 3 wks but the timescale may be longer now depending on how busy they are.

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression but we haven't had the forms back to get the references yet.I'm going to email him now anyway. Will let you know when we hear. Thanks. :)

if i was paying thiem as much as you probably are, id be onto them nonstop til they got the drafts done for me!!
thing is, these references are standard letters - they draft them to accomodate your personal circumstances but are basically standard letters.
when we drafted ours we included all that was required within the asco code, plus all the info that dimia required - ive posted in this forum somewhere one of our references (asked for others to take a look and comment :D ) - feel free to have a look at it

 feeling better now, have emailed one half of the agent(visa half in Ireland and the TRA half in Mandurah in Oz.)and visa man is getting it sorted ,he feels it should have all been done by now so if nothing comes back from Mandurah by Monday he's going to get another agent to take our case over as urgent. Thanks for the advise to get in touch, think we just needed a push. You just don't know what you should be doing sometimes or what stage you should be at but we were getting concernecd that this was going on a bit too long. Sounds like our main guy has a few concerns with TRA man but main man replied straightaway and sounds on ball so fingers crossed things might happen now. I know if we get the TRA I'll start fretting over the visa then but I guess this is going to be the way of life for the duration now! :treadmill: Thanks again, everyone!

good for you babs!
at the end of the day you are paying them a hell of a lot of money for thier services, and unless they have informed you of long periods of silence amongst the forms being sent off, then you are well within your rights to pester them for info!!!!
good luck, let us know how it goes :)
