Hi ive never done this before. Quite scared going on a forum.
Be kind to me
Hi i want to move to Australia but not sure where?
My hubby hates too much heat and as he will be the one bringing us over i guess we better go some where not too hot.
We have 3 children, one is very sporty
where should we start with finding out what is best for us
Dolly

Hello Dolly (sorry had to do it)
Australia can be hot. We have travelled over twice with 4 children, once at Xmas and then easter.
We come from london so not used to too much of the hot weather, but we did NOT find the heat a problem. It reached 33 when we were there xmas, and it certainly gets much hotter, but only for a few weeks a year, but they are geared up for it, most houses have air conditioning and of course pools, also the cars are air conditioned, all the shopping malls and resturants are air conditioned, and of course there it lots of beaches to cool off in.

I think it depends whether your husband will be working outside, mine is a carpenter and he knows he will struggle at first.

As far as areas, most go to Perth (for some reason) I been to perth, it is nice and some say it does not get as hot???We have family in brisbane so that's where we are heading.

good luck in your decisions hope this helps a little.

Hi Dolly,
Well I'm in Melbourne. I guess everywhere gets hot in the summer, tho winter here is definitely coat time! In Melbourne we get the chilled air off the south pole, tho the lowest it got to was +2.Still the sun comes out. Personally I love the summer esp. when it's 40+! Tho of course Someof the other places around get much hotter.

Thank you so much for that info.

i think i will have to look at Melbourne, and check their climate out.

Sounds silly but do you get snow in Australia? :blushing:

As i think it must always be nice and sunny

Pommygirl - September 3, 2006 07:14 AM (GMT)
Hi and welcome to the site.

There are snow plains in inland Victoria and southern NSW. Snow webcams

I live in South Australia. The climate here is very dry. The winters are quite cold but I haven't needed a coat this year, just jumpers. The summers can get to 40 degrees but only reaches these temps for about 4 days (not all together). One day it can be sunny with temps of 33 degrees, the next day it can be sunny but temp has dropped to 22 degrees. SA is not as buzzy as Melbourne or Sydney but it is the cheapest state to live in.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

Well ive got catgirl to blame for me never being off the pc. She sent me an email to let me know of this place.
It does seem more cozy than where i usually hang out.
I just need to open a bar and i'll be happy
What do you think Sue, a diamond bar

Cant believe i'll be flying to Melbourne in less than a month (for a reccie/holiday)
