Originally we were with Telstra which cost us $289.93 from 27/10/05 to 10/01/06. Taking out the connection fee ($53.64) this meant it was costing us over $92 a month!!! :o

We are now with AAPT who are $25 a month plus $25 line rental so only $50 a month!

We were also with Telstra, with Monthly bills of:
$144.53
$117.28
$124.85
$115.03


We switched to VOIP recently, although retained line rental with Telstra.
Out last two monthly costs have been:
$75.93
$71.58

We make many interstate calls, which use to cost $2.50 each, but after switching, now cost only 10c each untimed :) Athough since switching the number of these calls has jumped 500% (still saving a lot though) ;)

We have two phone lines, which bumps up the rental (rental alone is $42 per month for the 2 lines with silent numbers)

hi abc having 2 phones does that make it 21 dollars each or is 2nd line discounted?what does the terminology silent lines mean please ?

The 2nd line is a discounted line, and Silent Numbers mean the number isn't in the telephone directory, so we don't get cold callers canvassing us all the time ;)

Just checked the line rental breakdown:

Normal Line rental $29.94 per month
Silent Number option $2.93
2nd number Duet option $6.00

The 2nd number I have actually uses the one line, but we get 2 numbers, so I can use one as a dedicated fax line.

However we can't use both at the same time. I actually keep forgetting that :)
